What is the origin of gypsies?

The blacksmith refused to obey, and the Roman ruler was angry and ordered him to be deported. As a result, a large number of people who believed in Christianity and sympathized with Jesus left Egypt with the blacksmith and lived in a foreign land. They are the ancestors of gypsies. In addition, according to French records, in the winter of 1427, some gypsies came to Paris. They claimed that their ancestral home was in Egypt and originally believed in Christianity. Later, because of the Arab invasion, he was forced to convert to Islam. This behavior aroused the dissatisfaction of powerful Christians in Europe at that time, thinking that it was a betrayal of God. After consulting with European rulers, it was decided that Gypsies were not allowed to own land in China unless approved by the Pope, and they were ordered to go to Rome to pray for forgiveness. Later, the Pope asked them to wander in Europe for seven years and not to stay in bed on the way to show their piety and repentance to God. Since then, the gypsies who lost their homes have once again left their foothold and lived a wandering life without a fixed place.

However, more people think that Gypsies are from India. German scholars Rudiger, Grellmann and British classmate Brian found that many words in Gypsy dialect are very similar to Indian Sanskrit and Hindi, and the ancestors of Gypsies probably lived in India. Later, scholars further studied the social system, cultural customs and cattle lifestyle of the Kasai people, and found that they were very similar to the Dom people who lived in India earlier. For example, they all make a living by performing arts and have no fixed jobs. Most of them are good at singing and dancing, proficient in divination, and have the skills of making metal utensils. Also, they use the same bellows. They are all leather, with two pockets, blown by Sichuan pedals. So gypsies should be the descendants of Dom. However, it is not clear why they wander around the world far from home.
