After the Song and Ming Dynasties, Xu Zhenjun's reputation grew day by day, and he was regarded as one of the four heavenly teachers of the Jade Emperor.

Nanwu zu

Zhang Boduan, Shi Tai, Xue Daoguang, Chen Nan and Bai Yuchan were the five founders of Nanzong at that time. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhang Boduan was instructed by different people and made Inner Dan. His masterpiece "Five Needles" became the most important Neidan classic after "Zhouyi Tongcanqi". Zhang Boduan's Daoism is Ziyang Daoism, and his Daoism is mainly spread in the south. After Gai entered the Southern Song Dynasty, the north and the south were isolated, and the spread of his Taoism in the south was also due to the current situation. This Taoist school mainly teaches the practice of Neidan, and the five founders each left their works. Taoism recognizes that women and men have the same conditions to cultivate immortals, have equal merits, and can also hold immortal positions equivalent to male immortals, so the level of female immortals can also be very high. Because it is believed that a fairy must visit the Queen Mother of the West first, some books about the fairy always focus on the Queen Mother of the West, such as Yucheng Fairy Record compiled by Du Guangting, a Taoist priest of the Five Dynasties. Jin Yong City is said to be the residence of the Empress Dowager. There are 37 fairies under the Queen Mother and Xuan Nv in the book. In later Taoist books, there are also women immortals.

In addition to the Queen Mother of the West, there is another fairy who has great influence among the people: Ma Gu. Mrs. Wei, that is, Wei, is called Mrs. Nanyue in the celestial world.
