Oracle Bone Inscriptions is an ancient Chinese character in China, also known as "Wen Qi", "Oracle Bone Inscriptions", "Yin Ruins" or "tortoise shell and animal bones". The earliest mature Chinese characters we can see mainly refer to the characters carved on tortoise shells or animal bones by the royal family in China in the late Shang Dynasty, which is a carrier of the earliest systematic Shang Dynasty characters known in China and East Asia.

Oracle Bone Inscriptions's inclusion in the Memory of the World Register is the flagship project of UNESCO, which was established in 1997, aiming at rescuing the aged, damaged and disappeared documentary records in the world, strengthening protection and utilization, and raising the world's awareness of documentary heritage and its importance.

Oracle Bone Inscriptions unearthed from Yinxu site in Anyang. Since the discovery of 1899, 65438+ ten thousand pieces have been unearthed. Oracle Bone Inscriptions declared "Memory of the World", with about 93,000 Oracle Bone Inscriptions pieces collected by China Academy of Social Sciences, National Museum, Palace Museum, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Museum, Shandong Museum, Lushun Museum and Tianjin Museum as the main body.
