Buddhist views on names are not important.

The master of Buddhism is Sakyamuni, so Buddhist disciples also take dharma names and surnames out of respect.

The name is just a code name. For an expert, it is not despicable to call a pig a dog, nor is it honorable to call a Buddha. The wisdom of the Buddha is not among them. All beings are equal, but what is unequal is the hearts of laymen.
