The most important maids in A Dream of Red Mansions are Daiyu, Baochai, Qingwen and Xiren.

Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai are the main characters in A Dream of Red Mansions, while Qingwen and xiren have invisibly strengthened their position because of Zhi Yanzhai's comment that "Sunny is the shadow of Dai and xiren is the deputy of Chai", but many commentators have doubts about the rationality of "Sunny is the shadow of Dai".

More importantly, Zuo Zongtang and Jia Baoyu have the same perspective. They stripped the worldly right and wrong and treated Qingwen with a sincere heart. In addition, Zuo Zongtang's "attaching importance to emotion over reason" makes Qingwen's shortcomings insignificant, but her advantages are not as good as secular ones, which even Xiren and Baochai may not be able to do.
