Hongshi Town, Hengyang County

Hongshi Town, Hengyang County, also known as Hongluo Temple, is located in the northwest of Hengyang County. Provincial Highway S2 10 runs through the north and south, 28km west of the county seat, bordering Sanhu in the east, Jinxi in the south, Daan in the west, Qulan in the north and Shuangfeng County in the north. The whole territory is high in the west and low in the south, 22km long in the north and 8.5km wide in the east and west, with a total area of 65,438+.

The total cultivated land area of the town is 45,000 mu, including 34,000 mu of paddy fields and 65,438 mu of water surface. The important mineral in China is the vanadium pentoxide mine located in Tang Yang Village, Yulizi, with proven reserves, which belongs to the national medium-sized mining area. Rich in water resources, the steamed river runs through the town, enters the territory from Da 'an Township via Yinda Village, flows through thirteen villages along the way, and enters the territory of Sanhu via Shimen Village. There are 8 small reservoirs with a water surface of 7,400 mu. The whole territory is hilly and mountainous, with a forest coverage rate of 82%. Tianzhu Peak is one of the 72 peaks in Nanyue Mountain, with an altitude of 332 meters, towering ancient trees and green everywhere. The town has a subtropical humid climate with four distinct seasons, hot summer, cold winter, abundant sunshine, long frost-free period and rich agricultural and sideline products. It is a major rice producing area.

Domestic traffic is mainly by road, and shipping only leads to Da 'an Township. In addition to S2 10 line, there are county roads extending in all directions from Yangquan Village to Da 'an in the east, Shimen Village to Sanhu in the south, Caoguan Village to Jinxi in the west and Shuangfeng Bridge Pavilion in Li Zitong in the north. It is the main business center and distribution center of agricultural and sideline products in two towns and one township nearby.

Tourism resources are very rich, including the former residence of Xia Martyrs, the original "Xianxin Pavilion" of Wang Chuanshan and Tianzhu Peak. Others include Hongshihe Dam, Fuchuan Mausoleum and Martyrs' Tomb, Tianshiling Stone Paradise and so on.

The urban construction of Hongshi Town has developed rapidly, and all the streets are hardened with high-standard cement. On the banks of Zhengshui River, bounded by the "Four-Eye Bridge" in Hongshi City, two business districts naturally form. There is a large farmer's market, four specialized markets, two residential areas and a private industrial park. The bus station and the Summer Leisure Plaza will be completed this year.
