History of Fengyuan City

Fengyuan was originally called "Tayedun", and Pingpu people mean "Songberlin". Before Ming and Zheng Dynasties, Fengyuan was the territory of Anli Society and Wuniu Lanxi Society (now Wuniu Lanxi area in southern Song Li) of Pingpu nationality (Pingpu language is Haruton language).

1723 During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, Zhang Dajing, a hipster, and Pan Dunzai, a local official of Pingpu nationality in Anlishe, were allowed to recover this place. Later, men were introduced from China to build Maowu Town (later called Huludun Town), with a wide irrigation range. In the early years of Qianlong (1736), Liao Zhou of A Min led many people into the ground, and later renamed it "Huludun", belonging to the East Pavilion.

In the fourth year of Daoguang 1824, Babao Town was completed, which made Fengyuan and its neighboring areas (now Shenzhen-Hong Kong Township, Daya Township and Tanzi Township) criss-cross, with fertile fields everywhere, and the streets in the city became increasingly prosperous, even gradually surpassing the Anli Society in Pingpu. At the same time, the people of Bazehai lost their original residence because of the policy of "cutting land for water" and moved to Li Ailan and Puli in Nantou. During Guangxu period, when Taiwan Province Governor Liu Mingchuan arrived here, he was called "Fuchun Town" or "Little Suzhou" because of its rich land and beautiful scenery.

1886 During the Japanese occupation period, Huludun Street was patrolled. Huludunyi (now Fengyuan Station) was built in 1905, and Fengyuan became the traffic artery between Central China. 19 12 fengyuan established Taiwan Province hemp making co., ltd. to grow tobacco and jute in southern song dynasty. Starting from 19 15, Baxianshan Forest Farm began to cut, and Fengyuan became an important stronghold for wood storage, transportation and processing, which made the urban area increasingly prosperous. These timber mills and textile mills will become the predecessors of various small machinery factories in Fengyuan area in the future.

1920, the Governor's Office of Taiwan Province Province revised the local system and merged Huludun, Tanzaiqian, Aiya (Xiabao), Shenzhen-Hong Kong Township, Shekou District and Neipu District of Miaoli Three Treasures into "Fengyuan County", which was under the jurisdiction of Taizhong State and administered Fengyuan Street, Neipu Village and Miaoli Three Treasures.

1945 changed to fengyuan town, fengyuan district, taichung county; At this time, Taichung County included Changhua County and Nantou County (Changhua City was a provincial city at that time), and the counties were under the jurisdiction of Yuanlin. 195010 June 2 1, the administrative region was adjusted and the regional department was abolished. Taichung County was divided into Changhua County and Nantou County, and Taichung County was moved to Fengyuan Town. 1976 was restructured into fengyuan city, a county-level city.

1977 Established the Gonglaoping Sightseeing Orchard in Fengyuan, which is said to be the first sightseeing orchard in the world, so Fengyuan is famous for citrus and other Taiwan Province fruits.
