Fortune Telling Collection - Fortune-telling birth date - The last two paintings of Qi Baishi's life, one with messy lines and wrong age, are applauded.

The last two paintings of Qi Baishi's life, one with messy lines and wrong age, are applauded.

When this work was created, the old man Baishi was in the last few years, and the oil was exhausted. The old man is delirious, but he must pick up a pen and create with vague will. So the shape of the gourd he painted is not perfect, and the color is uneven in some places. The old man outlined the shape of the gourd completely by intuition, without any decoration or messy breath! The most amazing thing is the gourd vine created by the old man, just like what it looks like after the autumn wind in first frost. What impressed me the most was that Qi Baishi actually signed his own signature on the title of the book: 98 years old, maybe the old man was in a trance, but he was not sure of his age, so there was a clerical error. Of course, this is not a big problem. After all, he has been taking advantage of his spare time.

There will always be an end to human life. Even if a person is lucky enough to live a long life, he will inevitably face the day of death sooner or later. Because everyone has the end of life, life is precious, and time is more precious! A person's creative process will stop with the gradual decline of his body and output. 1957, Qi Baishi also ushered in the last day of his life.

That year, he created many works. According to public information, in May of 1957, Qi Baishi was appointed honorary president of Beijing China Painting Academy. In public reports, his last work, Peony in the Wind, was completed in May and June. On September 16 of that year, Qi Baishi completed his immortality.

Qi Baishi recorded such a thing in his memoirs: 1937, he listened to a fortune teller in Changsha and used his ability to hide the sky and cross the sea to increase the age of his signature works by three years! Therefore, some of his works adopt the method of virtual three-year-old. So we can see that most of the works he created in the last year are works from 97 years ago. This is also recorded in his last work, Peony in the Wind.

From this work, we can feel the fluttering and gorgeous colors of flowers and leaves. The peony in this picture is like a flower rather than a leaf. The wind is blowing from outside the painting. Flower dance is full of brilliant and rich vitality with its wave-like rhythm, gorgeous colors and flexible posture. Facing such a painting, Qi Lizheng, the granddaughter of Qi Baishi, once said, "Look at his last peony. He is painting with his soul. No stems. There is a flower above and leaves below. But you will feel that the leaves are lush. " The charm of this painting is quite different from other representative works of Qi Baishi, but perhaps this painting is a true portrayal of Qi Baishi's soul.
