By reference: Pass values and allow called processes to modify their methods. Also known as pressing the address.

By value: it is a method to pass a value to protect the data passed by the calling process so that the called process cannot change this data.

Edit mask: it is a format string, such as "# #, # #", which specifies how to display numeric and string data.
