Zhuang nationality is an aborigine in Guangxi. What is the relationship between Zhuang and Vietnamese?

China and Viet Nam are linked by mountains and rivers. In particular, Guangxi borders Vietnam, and most of the residents living on the border between the two countries are Zhuang people in Guangxi, as well as Dai and Nong people in Vietnam. According to the statistics of Vietnam's census, the Dai nationality is the most populous ethnic minority in Vietnam, ranking second in Vietnam, and mainly distributed in "Guangning, Gaoping, lang son, Beitai, Huanglianshan, Xuanguang, Hejiang, Laojie and other provinces" near the Vietnam-China border. The population of Nong nationality is about 968,000, mainly living in lang son, Gaoping, Beitai, Hebei, Hejiang, Laojie, Xuanhua and Anpei provinces [1]. Zhuang in Guangxi, Dai and Nong in Vietnam all belong to Zhuang and Tai, and belong to the same nation in different countries. They are closely related by blood and have a common cultural origin in history. In terms of customs and culture, they have common beliefs and customs. This paper introduces the cultural customs of Zhuang nationality in Guangxi, Dai nationality in Vietnam and Nong nationality during the Spring Festival.

Zhuang people in Guangxi and Dai farmers in Vietnam have many similarities in Spring Festival customs. Such as eating New Year's Eve, offering sacrifices to stoves, taking fresh water, welcoming new fire, inviting cows, and paying New Year greetings.

Sacrificing stoves has a long history in China and Viet Nam, and it is a widely spread custom. Offering sacrifices to the kitchen is offering sacrifices to the kitchen god. Zhuang people in Guangxi, Dai people in Vietnam and Nong people all celebrate the Kitchen God Festival on the 23rd of the twelfth lunar month, also known as the Kitchen God Festival, and the sacrifice is the Kitchen God. In the view of these three ethnic groups, the Spring Festival is just around the corner, and the breath of spring is getting stronger on this day. Therefore, on the Kitchen King's Day, every household of Zhuang, Dai, Nong and other ethnic groups has a stove with a censer on it. There is red paper around the incense burner, and there is no idol. This is the way to worship the kitchen god.

The three ethnic groups on the Sino-Vietnamese border have very similar versions of the legend of Kitchen God. They believe that the Kitchen God is the God sent by the Jade Emperor to take charge of fireworks in every household in the world. On the day of the Kitchen God Festival, the Kitchen God will return to the Heavenly Palace and tell the Jade Emperor about his life on earth this year. Among them, chicken is a horse that Kitchen God rides and a mount that flies to the sky. Therefore, on this day, Zhuang people will slaughter chickens and ducks, make zongzi from pork, and put these foods as sacrifices in front of the stove to worship. I hope Kitchen God can put in a good word in front of the Jade Emperor and bless the whole family for a safe New Year. On the day of offering sacrifices to the kitchen stove, it is called going to the kitchen. In order to welcome the kitchen god to heaven, people usually do some cleaning work at home to prepare for the Spring Festival. On New Year's Eve, people hang kitchen lamps to welcome the kitchen god back to earth.
