China's popular family protector. The belief in door gods has a long history, which is related to the belief in the concept of ghosts and gods in ancient China. People believe in the existence of ghosts and gods. In order to prevent the invasion of evil spirits, they put a door god on the door for the safety of the whole family. 79. The earliest gatekeepers were two statues carved with peaches, one was Shen Tu (Shu, Yan Shu) and the other was Lei Yu (IV), hanging on the door. Legend has it that the Yellow Emperor in ancient times not only ruled the world, but also ruled the ghost country. For those ghosts wandering in the world, the Yellow Emperor sent two gods to take charge, namely Shen Tu and Lei Yu. The two brothers live in Du Tao in the East China Sea of China. There is a huge peach tree on the mountain. Its trunk and branches stretch for three kilometers. There is a golden rooster standing on the top of the tree. Whenever the sun rises, the first ray of sunshine shines on it, and the golden rooster crows. Then, all the cocks in the world crow together. At this time, on both sides of a "ghost gate" between the northeast branches of the big peach tree, Shen Tu and Lei Yu ~ were majestically guarded. They look at all kinds of children in GREAT GHOST, who have just returned from wandering around the world. According to folklore, ghosts can only move at night and have to run back to the ghost country before dawn. If two gods find evil spirits among ghosts, they will immediately tie them up with reeds and throw them behind the mountain to feed the tigers. Therefore, ghosts are most afraid of four things: Shen Tu, Lei Yu, Golden Rooster and Tiger.

Later, the famous ghost killer Zhong Kui appeared again. After Zhong Kui, there appeared the door god of military commanders. After the Tang Dynasty, the most famous door gods were Qin Qiong and Hu Jingde. Qin Qiong and Hu Jingde were famous war generals in the early Tang Dynasty and the founding fathers who helped Li Shimin conquer the world. Volume 7 of "Three Religions Seeking God" says: "According to legend, Emperor Taizong was unprepared. Throw bricks and tiles outside the bedroom door, and the ghost cries. Emperor Taizong sued his minister. Qin Chu said, "I would like to stand outside the door with Hu Jingde in military uniform." Emperor Taizong can fight, but there is no police at night. Because of the painter's life, their portraits are hung around the palace gate, and evil spirits are precious. Future generations follow, and they will always be door gods. "It is said that one day, Emperor Taizong Li Shimin was unwell. He heard the sound of throwing bricks and tiles outside the bedroom, mixed with the howling of ghosts. Emperor Taizong told the ministers about this strange phenomenon. Qin stood up and said, "I would like to put on a military uniform with Hu Jingde and stand outside the bedroom door to protect the emperor." Emperor Taizong agreed to their invitation. If you do this, nothing will happen overnight. Therefore, Emperor Taizong ordered the court painter to paint portraits of Qin and Hu Jingde and hang them on the left and right doors of the bedroom. The ghost has completely stopped. Later generations followed this practice, and Qin and Hu Jingde became door gods forever. Hu Jingde is Wei Chijingde and Weichi Gong.
