Changping Mountain, located about 20km northeast of Zoucheng City, is 38 1 m above sea level and its main peak is about 40 1 m high. Because the top of the mountain is flat and wide, the ancients took auspicious meaning, so it was named Changping Mountain, also known as Pingshan. It overlooks Nishan, the birthplace of Confucius, on the southwest coast of nishan reservoir, and is located at the junction of Qufu City and Zoucheng City. To the east of the mountain is Zhangma Village, Nishan Town, Qufu City, and to the west of the mountain is Shanwo Village, Dashu Town, Zoucheng City. According to the 18th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1892), "Continued Records of Zouxian County" contained: "Pingshan is Changping Mountain".
