Behind-the-scenes Creation of Flower Gun Edge

Fireworks was originally named Father and Son Meeting and Luo Song Looking for Dad. It is written that Luo Yi went to Beijing to catch the exam, fell ill in Jiang Jiaji, Nanyang, and married Jiang Guizhi. Jiang Guizhi taught Luo Yi 72 fireworks. After Se passed the examination, she married Qin, gave birth to Luo Cheng and gave him the torch. Forty years later, Jiang Guizhi learned that Luo Yi had gathered in Wagang, and his son Luo Song and grandson Luo Huan went to Wagang to recognize their father. Se dare not Joseph, McCullough angered Luo Song and his son, and was captured by Luo Huansheng. Jiang Guizhi defeated Luo Yi again. After reconciliation, the husband and wife get married and the family get together, just like in a crock. The play is quite legendary, and the language has a strong local flavor. Taking Lao Dan (Jiang Guizhi), Lao Sheng (Luo Yi), Hua Lian (Cheng), Wu Sheng (Luo Cheng) and Wa Sheng (Luo Huan) as the works, it is a well-known play that pays equal attention to singing and doing. Many famous Henan Opera actors (such as Wang Xiulan) have sung this play and become famous for it.

1956, Anyang Henan Opera Troupe rehearsed a version directed by the famous Henan dramatist Wang Zhennan, with Cui Lantian as Jiang Guizhi and Lu Shiyuan as Luo Yi, which was a sensation. 1957, Cui Lantian came to Beijing to perform this play. Premier Zhou Enlai was busy with official business and then rushed to the theater. He only watched the second half of the play and met the cast members of the whole troupe, who spoke highly of him. 1959, the play won the Excellence Award of the Second Opera Observation and Performance Conference in Henan Province.

198 1 in the summer of, Song Ci was renamed "Flower Gun Edge", which was rehearsed by Luoyang Henan Opera Troupe and decorated by Ma Jinfeng and Jiang Guizhi. When Ma Jinfeng performed in Beijing for the fourth time, he brought the play to Beijing, which also caused a great sensation. At that time, some people complained that Ma Jinfeng robbed Cui Lantian's play. I beg to differ from this statement.

In a pear garden, it is common for different actors to perform an excellent play. For example, Mei, Shang, Cheng and Xun all acted in Yu Tang Chun, and many of their students are still acting today. 1959, Mu was adapted by Master Mei Lanfang. Not long ago, the 3rd Regiment of China Peking Opera Theatre also performed Cheng Pai's version of Mu Sitting in the Town (Cheng Pai's disciples played Mu) at the Air Grand Theatre. The same is true of Henan Opera. In 1930s, the performance of Three Upper Angles was adapted into one of the representative works of Cui School. There are more than ten or twenty famous actors in the famous drama "The Great Sacrifice Piles". Therefore, I think there is nothing wrong with Ma Jinfeng performing this play again, let alone criticizing it. Of course, I have no intention of praising Ma and belittling Cui, because the two masters of Henan Opera have the same status in my mind.

The author has lived in Luoyang for nearly 50 years, watched more Ma Jinfeng's plays and heard more of her stories. I also know a thing or two about how the flower gun edge was changed from a flower gun. 198 1 April, Luoyang Henan Opera Troupe is scheduled to perform in Beijing for the fourth time in July 1, with two major dramas, Mu and Hua Da Chao. Unexpectedly, at the end of the month, there was a notice from Luoyang Propaganda Department, "Go to Beijing without Huada Chao." The troupe is in trouble. It's only two months since I left Beijing, so it's too late to arrange a new play. Besides, there are no new books. We can't let Ma Jinfeng always go to Beijing to visit Mu Guiying! At that time, the troupe knew that Ma Jinfeng had performed "Flower Gun" in his early years, and Master Cui Lantian had performed this play in Beijing for more than 20 years. 1979, The Experimental Peking Opera Troupe of Chinese Traditional Opera School transplanted Fireworks into Peking Opera (starring Zheng Ziru), all of which were successful. Can we reprocess it, too? At that time, I came from Nanjing to do Mu's lyrics work (Jiangsu playwright, together with Lao Zhengdong, but I fell out because of copyright issues, so I was speechless and didn't comment). After learning about this, I gladly accepted the task of sorting out the script and promised to send it back to Nanjing in the second half of the month. After reading the adapted version of Song Ci, the troupe thought it could be adopted, which saved the troupe's worry, so it sent a telegram to Los Angeles to help make the script. In less than a month, the flower gun edge was rushed out. Before the rehearsal, Yang Lanchun, a famous Henan screenwriter and director, was invited to give further processing guidance to make the play by going up one flight of stairs. On June 23rd, he performed at Hebei Theater in Shijiazhuang, and received rave reviews. Before going to Beijing, the troupe and Ma Jinfeng made a special trip back to Zhengzhou from Xingtai and reported the situation to the leaders of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee. They also said that Hebei Bangzi Troupe also performed "Hua Da Chao" in Beijing. The Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee made a decision on the spot, and the three plays of "One Hanging Two Flowers" went to Beijing to perform together, and ordered Yang Lanchun to reprocess "Huada Super" and report the performance with the troupe. The leaders of the Propaganda Department of Luoyang Municipal Committee also made a special trip to the Art Troupe, and personally led the Art Troupe to Beijing on June 28th.

Since July 1 day, Luoyang Henan Opera Troupe has staged three plays, Mu Commanding, Hua Da Chao and Hua Qiang Yuan, at Beijing Chang 'an Theatre. The grand occasion was unprecedented, and various media rushed to report it, praising "Huada Super" as a sensation in the whole capital. The drama theorist wrote Enlightenment from Adaptation, and the drama critic Feng also wrote the article Sixty Years of Love, which gave full appreciation and affirmation to Flower Gun.

Luoyang Daily's report on "the edge of the fireworks" is even more eloquent and spares no effort. The author didn't see the performance of the play until the troupe went to Beijing to perform, and watched it twice in a row. The play was well revised, the director directed it well, the actors performed it well, and Ma Jinfeng sang it well! Better than her Huada, not worse than her Mu Guiying.

Compared with the original "Flower Gun Edge", Flower Gun Edge omits Luo Yi's remarried wife Qin Shihe, strengthens the portrayal of Cheng, Luo Yi and Luo Cheng, enriches the humorous performance elements, highlights the main line of love between Luo Yi and Jiang Guizhi, and greatly changes the lyrics, thus increasing the visibility of the play. Take Jiang Guizhi's lyrics after he appeared in the scene of South Shadow as an example. At the end of this article, I listed the lyrics of the old and new versions for readers to compare.

"Red flowers should match green leaves", and the wonderful performances of several other actors are remarkable, which adds a lot of color to the surge. Ma Jinfeng is nearly 60 years old, which is basically consistent with Jiang Guizhi's age. She devoted more than 50 years of stage performance experience and singing skills, and successfully shaped Jiang Guizhi's artistic image. Compared with her previous roles as Mu and Qi Grandma, she also made a breakthrough. In the second half of the play, she wore a flag, dressed in a military uniform, and fought Luo Yi with a silver gun, showing her heroic spirit.

Speaking of singing, it is even more important. Ma Jinfeng studied under Ma Shuangzhi, a famous master of Xiangfu tune, but in his early years, he performed in eastern Henan, western Henan, southwestern Shandong and northern Anhui for many years. Therefore, her singing has both the sonority of Eastern Henan, the elegance and delicacy of Xiangfu, the simplicity and smoothness of Western Henan, and the boldness and boldness of Shandong Bangzi. She does not stick to one pattern, organically integrates the strengths of various schools into her own vocals, and creates a large number of colorful, crisp and beautiful arias, gradually forming vocal characteristics with clear articulation, clear pronunciation, crisp ending, relaxed and comfortable, lively melody, and common sense. In this drama, all her vocals are full of the charm of Ma school vocal music art created by her, which won applause from the audience.

In the scene of "South Shadow", the aria that tells the love story of Jiang Guizhi and Luo Yi for more than ten minutes, she is very relaxed and full of breath, like singing without singing, like singing without perfection, sounds beautiful but not greasy, relaxed without losing charm, and has no sense of superfluous words. Basically only use "Barr", no treble major, and no fancy singing. However, with her skillful singing skills, more than 100 lyrics sang like flowing water and colorful. In her gentle and stretched singing, from time to time there are flying beads splashing jade. The more you listen, the more interesting it becomes. In the seemingly ordinary singing, her clever articulation and rhyme, delicate intonation and gas use can be seen everywhere, and beautiful throwing and delicate curvature can be seen everywhere in the singing, which highlights their ordinary and skillful singing characteristics in normal practice, which is also the main reason why the lasting appeal in the singing is so crisp and sweet.

In the last game against Se, I knocked him to the ground with one shot, which finally gave me a sigh of relief. Jiang Guizhi's two vocals, from "Lao Luoyi, you clap your chest and think about it, how did you get to Jiang Jiji" to Cheng urging everyone to kneel down and make it clear, "Sirs kneel on the ground and hate is hard to mention. Stop. Stop. Stop. Heroes, please get up quickly ",and then give Luo Yi a sole to hit his face. Jiang Guizhi just" Cough! Ahem! Look at you, old man. You can't take it seriously when I say fight. " The cheerful and lively singing is not too long, but it appropriately sings the psychological changes of the characters.

1June, 985, "Flower Gun Edge" was made into a colorful opera art film by Xi 'an Film Studio and released nationwide. This film is better than her first two films, and even Ma Jinfeng herself is satisfied.
