Is Bozhou Shi Gandang a prodigy in Xiguan?

Some scholars believe that Shi Gan-dang is based on a general in the Five Dynasties. At the end of the late Tang Dynasty, Shi Jingtang, our envoy from Hedong, was called to Weizhou by Emperor Tang Chengdi. In order to prevent accidents, Liu Zhiyuan recommended Shi Gan, a warrior, to escort Shi Jingtang.

After Shi Gandang was ambushed, Shi dared to defend his country and died heroically, but his bravery bought time for Liu Zhiyuan to rescue Shi Jingtang. Since then, Shi Gan has won the respect of the people with its reputation of "turning misfortune into happiness, resisting aggression and preventing danger".
