Macheng City is located in the northeast of Hubei Province, at the southern foot of the middle Dabie Mountain and the north bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.

It borders Shangcheng County and Xinxian County of Henan Province in the north, Jinzhai County of Anhui Province in the northeast, Luotian County in the east, Tuanfeng County and Xinzhou District of Wuhan City in the south and Hongan County in the west.

Macheng has a long history.

Developed more than 7,000 years ago, it was the land of Chu in the Spring and Autumn Period. It was famous in history because of the Wu Chu War, and it was called the White Pony.

The post-Zhao general Schleswig-Holstein defended the city in Machu and named it Macheng.

In the eighteenth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 598), a county was established, officially named Macheng, which belongs to Huangzhou County and has been attacked repeatedly since the Tang and Song Dynasties.
