Manas County belongs to Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. According to official website, the People's Government of Manas County, Manas is known as the "West Gate" of Urumqi, with convenient transportation and unique location. Located in the one-hour economic circle of Urumqi, which is 130 km east of the capital Urumqi, it is the westernmost county (city) in Changji Prefecture, facing Shihezi City across the river.
