About Yulin Dialect

Yulin dialect belongs to the gully region of southeast Guangxi. It is developed from standard Cantonese in grammar, word formation and pronunciation. There are similarities and considerable differences. In order to standardize pronunciation, record the phonetic and lexical features of Yulin dialect at this stage, avoid the nonstandard before using standardized Chinese characters, facilitate the general public to learn and use, and promote the diversity of languages. Yulin dialect is mainly distributed in 13 counties and cities in Yulin and Wuzhou (except Pingnan County and Guiping County), and people who can understand Yulin dialect are mostly distributed in Yulin and Wuzhou.
