Is it spring in the new year?

The current "Lunar Calendar" in China is actually the "taichu calendar" used in the Han Dynasty, which is based on the accurate calculation of the earth's rotation. The New Year should be beginning of spring. At present, we follow the tradition that the first day of the first month is the New Year, which was stipulated in the form of a document in the second year of the Republic of China (19 12). That is to say, before 19 12, the Spring Festival in China began on the day of beginning of spring, while after 19 12, the Spring Festival began on the first day of the first month. Later, the Gregorian calendar was mainly used in life, and the New Year generally refers to 1 day of the Gregorian calendar, that is, New Year's Day. The Lunar New Year is still the first day of the first month of the Spring Festival.

In ancient China, the chronological method was based on the lunar calendar. The average year was 12 months and 354 days, and the leap year was 13 months and 384 days, which led to the inconsistency of the 24 solar terms and dates. In other words, a day in beginning of spring is not a fixed day. So there is no beginning of spring in some lunar years (from the first month to the twelfth month), and there are two beginning of spring in some years. In view of this situation, in the early years of the Republic of China, the festival "Spring Festival" was set on the first day of the first lunar month. In this way, there will be no phenomenon that some years have two Spring Festival holidays and some years have no Spring Festival holidays. However, the problem caused by this is that the Spring Festival (the first day of the first lunar month) changes greatly compared with the Gregorian calendar, but it is not as stable as the solar terms in beginning of spring.
