Dai temples: a long history and cultural origin (the origin of Dai temples in Taishan)

Dai Temple, one of the five mountains in Mount Tai, is located in Tai 'an County at the southern foot of Mount Tai, and it is the place where emperors held closed-door meditation ceremonies. In history, there is a record that "Han also rose from the palace". After large-scale construction and repair, magnificent ancient buildings have been formed, with a total area of more than 96,400 square meters. Its scale design completely imitates the Palace and Miyagi, and embodies the artistic style of ancient architecture in China.

In front of Dai Temple is Dai Temple Square, and the medicine residual pavilion in front of the square is the initial stage of entering the temple. The ancient emperors faced the mountains, first held a simple ceremony in the pavilion, and then entered the temple for a big sacrifice, so it was originally named Caoshen Pavilion. After entering the temple, you can see five cypress trees in the East Han Park in Tianmen, which was said to have been planted by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty when he came to meditate on Mount Tai. In the quadrangles of Bai Han, what is more striking is all kinds of ancient inscriptions. There are more than 60 stone carvings1in Dai Temple from Qin Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, most of which are hidden in Hanbaiyuan.

Famous monuments include Zhang Qianbei in Han Dynasty, Fang Heng Monument, Sun Lady Monument in Jin Dynasty and Shenbao Temple Monument in Tang Dynasty, all of which are precious cultural relics for studying China's calligraphy art and inscriptions. There is also a Tai Chi monument reflecting pre-Qin philosophy, the first mountain monument of Mi Fei, a great painter in the Song Dynasty. The earliest stone carving in Daimiao is the Lisi Monument in Qin Dynasty.

Li Si's "Stone Carving with Small Seal in the East Palace" was the imperial edict of Qin Ershi Hu Hai when he sealed Mount Tai in 209 BC. It was written by Prime Minister Reese. The original text is 79 words, with only 10 left, which is a treasure in ancient culture. The main building of Dai Temple, Tianzhi Hall, is tall and majestic, and it is the place where ancient emperors sacrificed Mount Tai in Dongyue. This temple was built in Song Xianggong for two years (1009), which is the product of Song Zhenzong's consolidation of political power, forgery of gobbledygook and thanks to God. There is a huge mural in the hall, 62 meters high and 3.3 meters long. It is called "The Return of Mount Tai", which describes the inspection of Dongyue Emperor, but actually describes the inspection of the mountain by Song Emperor.
