One day, Hou Yi visited a friend in Kunlun Mountain and asked the Queen Mother for a bag of elixir. It is said that taking this medicine can instantly ascend to heaven and become immortal. However, Hou Yi was reluctant to leave his wife and temporarily handed over the elixir to Chang 'e for collection. Chang 'e hid the medicine in the treasure chest of the dresser. Three days later, Hou Yi led his entourage out hunting, while Meng Peng pretended to be ill and didn't go out. Shortly after Hou Yi led the crowd to leave, Meng Peng broke into the backyard of the back room with a sword and threatened Chang 'e to hand over the elixir. Chang 'e knew that she was no match for Meng Peng. In a crisis, she turned to open the treasure box, took out the elixir and swallowed it in one gulp. Chang 'e swallowed the medicine and immediately floated off the ground, rushed out of the window and flew into the sky. Because Chang 'e was worried about her husband, she flew to the nearest moon and became a fairy.

In the evening, when Hou Yi came home, the maids cried and told what happened during the day. Hou Yi was surprised and angry, and drew his sword to kill the villain. Meng Peng has escaped. Hou Yi was so angry that he looked up at the night sky and called for Chang 'e. At this time, he found that the moon today was exceptionally bright and there was a swaying figure resembling Chang 'e. Hou Yi missed his wife, so he sent someone to Chang 'e's favorite back garden, put a table of incense, put on Chang 'e's favorite honey and fresh fruit, and sacrificed Chang 'e in the moon palace. After hearing the news that the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon became an immortal, people set up an incense table under the moon and prayed for good luck and peace to the kind Chang 'e. Since then, the custom of Mid-Autumn Festival in Yue Bai has spread among the people.

Second, WU GANG cut Guangxi.

According to legend, there is a fairy named WU GANG in the sky. He killed Emperor Yan's grandson Boling and was sent to the Moon Palace to cut down osmanthus trees. But osmanthus trees in the Moon Palace are immortal trees. WU GANG cut down a knife mark, and the laurel tree will heal immediately, so there is no end to cutting down trees in WU GANG. It is said that every Mid-Autumn Festival, we can see WU GANG cutting down trees through moonlight.

There is also a myth that WU GANG chopped osmanthus and brewed the best wine in the world, osmanthus wine. WU GANG cuts down trees every day. Thousands of years have passed, and that magical osmanthus tree is still as old and full of vitality. Every Mid-Autumn Festival, I miss my parents twice. WU GANG knew that there were no osmanthus trees in the world, so he spread the seeds of osmanthus trees to the world.

Third, Jade Rabbit smashed medicine.

This legend was first seen in Dong Escape from Han Yuefu: "Jade Rabbit kneels for a long time to pound toad pills and presents a jade plate to your majesty. Taking this medicine will make you live forever. " According to legend, there is a rabbit on the moon, as white as jade, so people call it "Jade Rabbit". This jade rabbit, holding a jade pestle, knelt down and pounded the medicine into toad pills. Take these pills and you will live forever.

In addition, there is a legend that three immortals, incarnated as three poor old people, begged food from foxes, monkeys and rabbits. The fox and the monkey don't want to give, but the rabbit wants to give but there is no food, so it tells the old man, "If you are hungry, come and eat me." Say that finish and jump into the fire. The three immortals were very moved, so they sent the rabbit's soul to Guanghan Palace to accompany Chang 'e and pound the elixir for the people.

Fourth, the story of Xuanzong

According to legend, Taoist priests Xuanzong, Shen and Hong all enjoy the moon in the Mid-Autumn Festival. Suddenly, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty put forward the idea of visiting the Moon Palace, so Shi Tianzhao did it, and the three of them began to go to Qingyun and roam the Moon Palace. However, the palace is heavily guarded and cannot enter, so it can only overlook the imperial city of Chang 'an. At this moment, I suddenly heard the voice of a fairy. Tang Xuanzong was always familiar with melody, so he remembered it.

This is precisely "this song should only be in the sky, and the world can listen to it several times!" Later, Xuanzong recalled Xian 'e's music and singing in the Moon Palace, composed and choreographed his own music, and created a famous "colorful feather" in history.

V. The Story of Rabbit

It is said that one year a plague broke out suddenly in Beijing, killing many people and wailing everywhere. The moon goddess Chang 'e saw this terrible scene in the sky. She couldn't bear it, so she sent the jade rabbit around her to the world to treat the people. Jade rabbit turns into a girl and delivers medicine from door to door. These pills are red and white. Just finish them. Red and white pills later evolved into "naturally invited red" and "naturally invited white" moon cakes in the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In order to thank Yutu, people gave her things one after another, but Yutu wanted nothing, just borrowed clothes from others and changed clothes for her everywhere, sometimes dressed like a peddler and sometimes like a fortune teller. One minute a man dresses up, and the next he becomes a woman. In order to treat more people, Yutu rode on deer, lion and tiger, much faster than walking. She traveled all over the capital and saved more people. Later, in order to commemorate and thank the kindness of Jade Rabbit, people created the image of Jade Rabbit with clay sculptures, including those riding deer, tigers, lions, people wearing armor and workers' clothes. They are cute in every way. On the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, every family will worship him, put delicious fruits and edamame, reward him for bringing good luck and happiness to the world, and affectionately call her "rabbit father".
