Where is the ancestral temple of Feng Long in Huidong?

Huidong Feng Long Temple is a cultural relic protection unit in Huidong County.

Huidong Feng Long Ancestral Temple is located in Jiulong Peak, Tan Gong Village, Daling Town, Huidong County. Built in the Ming Dynasty, it was originally named Tan Gongzu Temple. Jiulong Peak is located at the southern end of Lianhua Mountain, the west branch of the river. Because the mountain peaks are like nine Youlong, it is named. The temple is located in the hinterland of the mountain, so it is also called Jiulong Ancestral Temple. In the third year of Daoguang reign (1823), it was rebuilt with the donation of villagers, and the inscription of Tam Kung Temple in Jiulong Peak is still in the temple.

Feng Long ancestral hall is a brick-wood structure with a total width of 23.8m and a depth of 21.5m. It supports built-in 12 square columns and 12 round wooden columns. Exquisite decorative patterns are carved on the hump, melon column and other components of the beam frame. There are gray sculptures on both sides of the outer wall and the back wall, and murals, myths and legends and folk allusions are painted on the inner wall. The gate reads "Feng Long Ancestral Temple", and the couplets on both sides read: "Tigers, snakes and turtles are squatting; The merits and demerits are not biased. " In the main hall of the temple, there is a real statue of Tan Gong and a wooden tablet, which was given by Li, the magistrate of Huizhou in the 15th year of Guangxu (1889).

Tan Gong's real name is Tan De, and it is said that he was born at the end of Yuan Dynasty. According to the Records of Huizhou Prefecture, Tan Gong used to graze here when he was a child. It is said that he has great magical powers, can tame tigers, call the wind and rain, benefit the people, and then gain enlightenment here. The local people built a temple here in memory of him. There are Wenchang Palace, Yinzhi Pavilion, Guanyin Pavilion, Dedao Pavilion and Shitai near the temple. It was rebuilt in the 1980s.

1984 Huidong county people's government announced it as a cultural relics protection unit.
