Liuhe has two meanings.

The first is cosmology. The ancients thought that the front, back, left, right, top and bottom formed a space, just like each side of a box, enclosing people in the middle.

The six dimensions of this concept can be called space. The second is the trick of Zhouyi.

The ancients divided space and time into twelve equal parts to tell fortune. They are Zi, Ugly, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu and Hai, which are called twelve directions, also called twelve time periods (year, month and day), that is, the twelve zodiac signs.

In the zodiac, the combination of Zi Chou, Yin Hai, Mao and Xu, Chen and You, Shen and Wu objectively embodies the unity of time and space, and subjectively serves as a reference for fortune-telling and prediction. There are six items in total, so it is called Liuhe.
