After the tape measure is pulled out according to the size, the length is marked on the front of the tape measure, generally in centimeters, and the tape measure is parallel to the measured object, so that reading can be made.

Generally, the numbers on a tape measure are divided into two rows, one row is CM /CM, the other row is inch, 1cm is about 0.3937 inch, and 1CM is about =2.54CM, so the shorter number unit between the two numbers is cm, the longer number unit is inch, and the number font in cm is smaller than that in inch.

The 0 scale of the ruler is close to one end of the object and remains parallel to the object. Pull the ruler to the other end of the object, near this end. Keep your eyes perpendicular to the scale, read the data and record it.

Instructions for use of tape measure

Most tape measures have a switch next to them. When using a tape measure, you must turn on the switch before you can pull out the ruler. Some better tape measures have buttons in addition to switches, which helps to keep the ruler stable during measurement.

There are two reading methods for tape measure. One is the direct reading method. When measuring, aim the zero scale of the steel tape at the starting point of measurement, apply appropriate tension, and directly read the scale corresponding to the measuring end point.

The other is indirect reading. In some parts where steel tape cannot be directly used, steel ruler or square ruler can be used to align the zero scale with the measuring point, and the ruler body is consistent with the measuring direction. Measure the distance to a full scale on a steel ruler or square with a steel tape measure, and measure the remaining length by reading.
