Where is the toilet god gate in Nanjing?

According to legend, Liu Bowen, a strategist of Zhu Yuanzhang, personally surveyed, planned and built the toilet door. Today, the Toilet God Gate is a well-preserved city gate in Nanjing, and Weng City Gate, _ Gate and the sloping top mountain gate with three bays are still there.

Although it is located in a remote place, the Toilet God Gate stands out from Xuanwu Lake, and is adjacent to the Shogun Mountain (formerly known as Baitushan) and the Yangtze River in the north, so it occupies an important position in military defense. In the 13th year of Li Yong in Nanming (16th year of Qing Shunzhi, AD 1659), Zheng Chenggong, the general of Nanming, was ordered to lead an army to attack the Qing army in the southeast coastal area and attack Nanjing, the southeast important town of the Qing government.

On July 2 1 day and night, the Qing army quietly opened the gate on the right side of Ce Shen City Gate, sneaked out of the city, attacked Zheng Jun, and returned home with a small victory in the early morning. After the victory of the Qing army, the morale was greatly boosted, and they flocked out of the city from the toilet gate to fight. Zheng Jun was caught off guard, rushed to fight and retreated in chaos. After the Battle of Baitushan, Zheng Chenggong's army lost tens of thousands of soldiers and more than a dozen generals died. The victory of Zheng Chenggong's Northern Expedition, known as the "Southeast Earthquake" in history, vanished. In order to celebrate the victory of the Qing army, the emperor shunzhi issued a imperial edict, and renamed the Toilet Gate as "Victory Gate".

Although the Toilet God Gate is a military fortress, it is isolated and sparsely populated. Ming, Qing and Republic of China were basically closed and not used. 1928, the national government changed the gate of victory to the gate of peace. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, the Japanese army occupied Nanjing and built the urn outside Heping Gate into a gasoline depot. After liberation, the Nanjing Military Region took over here, and it is still used as an oil depot. For a long time, as a military force, the gate of Ce Shen has been covered with a mysterious color.
