Who is Grandma White and who is her real identity?

As we all know, there are many places in the folk where immortals are often called "grandfathers" and women are called "grandmothers". Today, we are talking about Grandma White. She exists in many places, but it seems that different places have different identities.

The legendary identity of Grandma White on Jiulong Mountain in West Shui Ye Town, Anyang City is the White Snake Empress, where not only the white snake but also the green snake is worshipped, as shown in the following figure.

There is also a saying that Grandma White is Guanyin Bodhisattva, because Guanyin Bodhisattva always shows people in white, so they are all called Grandma White.

In some places, Grandma White comes from some local folk stories. For example, in northern Shandong, a villager saved a white marble Buddha statue, which suddenly spoke one day, thanking the villagers for their rescue and saving their family when the mutiny came. So the story spread. Everyone called it Grandma White and built a temple for her.
