I can answer your question from several levels.

First of all, enlightenment is the awakening state of existence. When thinking stops completely, you are in a deep silence. In this silence, you are in a state of enlightenment. You are completely in the moment with everything around you, and your sense of separation is greatly disintegrated, and you experience unity. You feel the existence of God, or the divinity in your heart and everything around you.

This is a kind of extreme happiness. A deep inner awareness rises, but you remain silent. You know you are love. Sometimes, deep understanding and enlightenment will rise in silence. Natural healing may also occur.

This state of awakening is the natural state of your existence. This is the real you. It's always in your heart. It's just that many times, you are so absorbed in your mind's thinking world, past and future, that you are basically unaware of it.

At the deepest level of enlightenment or presence, all separation will disappear completely. Your personality will also disappear. No matter in the past or in the future, there will be no feeling of "self". There is no sense of life beyond the present.
