According to legend, there was a wizard named Ji Cheng in the State of Zheng who was very good at reading people's faces. By observing a person's appearance, he can predict the person's life and death, good or bad luck, longevity, and accurately infer the year, month and day when something happened, just like a god. When Zheng's people saw it, they all ran away, fearing that his prophecy would bring them a heavy psychological burden.

On the other hand, Liezi worships Ji Cheng. Liezi went back and told his teacher nothing, saying: Before, I thought your teacher had the deepest method, but now someone is more advanced than your method.

Then he described Ji Cheng's fortune-telling skills in detail.

The next day, Liezi accompanied Ji Cheng to see the jar. After Ji Cheng came out of nothing's house, he said to Liezi, This is a great event. Your teacher is going to die soon. Liezi was so sad that she cried tears all over her skirt. He hurried back and told the pot what Ji Cheng had said.

Nothing was sad at all, but smiled cunningly and said, What I just showed him was a gloomy and lifeless expression. I looked blank and motionless. He probably thinks I'm not energetic. Let him come back tomorrow.

Because every time the expression is different, Ji Cheng can't grasp his real situation. As a result, in the next few days, Ji Cheng said that there was still a chance for the pot, and then frankly admitted not to let him see his face.

Ji Cheng went into nothing's house for the last time and ran away in panic before he gained a foothold. The pot said to Liezi: Go and get him back for me! Liezi chased him out in a panic, but Ji Cheng had run away without a trace. Liezi came back and said to Ji Cheng, He ran so fast that he couldn't even see the shadow.

Nothing said: What I just showed him was not my true colors. I was hypocritical to him, and changed with his changes, which caught him off guard and forced him to escape.

After hearing these words, Liezi deeply felt that he had not learned the essence of the avenue at all. From then on, he returned to his home and never went out for three years.
