Brief introduction of Kunming Black Dragon Pool

Located in the southwest of Kunming City, Yunnan Province, it was called Nanze in ancient times, also known as Kunming Lake. Dianchi Lake is called Dianchi Lake because there are Yunnan tribes living around it, or people who seem to have returned to Yunnan, so it is called Dianchi Lake. Dianchi Lake is a lake with earthquake fault subsidence, which is shaped like a crescent moon. The elevation of the lake is 1886 meters, the length from north to south is 39 kilometers, and the widest from east to west is 13 kilometers.

Black Dragon Pool, located at the foot of Wulong Peak in Longquan Mountain, which is12km north of Kunming, is named after a pool formed by springs at the foot of the mountain. It is one of the ancient scenic spots in Kunming.

Black Dragon Pool, also known as Dragon View Spring, is a famous Taoist temple in ancient times, which is said to be the seat of Heishui Temple in Han Dynasty. Black Dragon Pool consists of two groups of Taoist buildings. Longquan view hidden in the shade is called Shangguan, and the Black Dragon Palace near the deep water of Bitan Lake is called Xiagong. In addition, there are three ancient trees in Black Dragon Pool, namely Tang Mei, White Pine and Tea. In the past, Black Dragon Pool has always been characterized by strange water and ancient trees, and it is called the "four wonders" of Black Dragon Pool.

Since the 1990s, there has been a "Longquan Meitan Garden" covering an area of more than 400 mu. There are more than 100 varieties in the garden, which are divided into four areas: Yimei District, Huamei District, Variety District and Guomei District, with nearly 5,000 plum plants (pots). It is one of the few plum gardens in China. The plum exhibitions around the Spring Festival every year are pleasing to the eye.

Not far from the garden is the famous Kunming Institute of Botany, and Yunnan Kelan is one of the "plant kingdoms".
