The first lake in the south of the Yangtze River, Mochou Lake.

Mo Chounv's sad love story attracted us to Mochou Lake Park, and there were four big characters at the entrance of the park: "Mochow is coming".

According to legend, in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there was a beautiful and intelligent girl named Mochow in Luoyang. /kloc-at the age of 0/5, she sold herself and buried her father in Lujia, Jinling./kloc-at the age of 0/6, she gave birth to a son, Ahou. The couple love each other and have a happy family. Later, because of the war, her husband was recruited to defend the border, and there was no news. In order to see her husband who misses her day and night, she turned into a lake, hoping to flow with the Yangtze River to the White Wolf River where her husband lives. Later generations named the lake she turned into Mochou Lake to commemorate this girl who was faithful to love.

Mochou Lake, formerly known as Hengtang, is also called Shicheng Lake because of its proximity to Shicheng. In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, after Liang Wudi (464-549 AD) wrote "Hedong Water Song", the beautiful legend of Mo Chounv has a long history, and Shihu was renamed Mochou Lake.

Mochou Lake has been known as "the first lake in the south of the Yangtze River" and "the first scene in Jinling" since the Song Dynasty. Zheng Banqiao praised its scenery: "Ruyan Liu Lake, the lake cloud is like a dream, and the lake wave is thicker than wine." Even Yuan Mei praised: "If you want to compare with Mochow in the West Temple, it is difficult to judge right and wrong from the smoke, but you feel that the West Lake is lost and flying outside the river." In the Republic of China, Mochou Lake listed "Mochou misty rain" as the first of "Forty-eight scenic spots in Jinling".

Mochou Lake Park has been the palace of Zhu Yuanzhang, the great ancestor of Ming Dynasty, and the private garden of Xu Da, the king of Zhongshan in Ming Dynasty. Emperor Qianlong entered the palace of Mochou Lake, which was renovated by Li Kedong, a magistrate in the south of the Yangtze River, and Zeng Guofan, an important official in the late Qing Dynasty, and became a veritable garden.

Mochou Lake Park is a famous classical garden in Nanjing. It is a scenic park that combines the cultures of the Six Dynasties. This park covers 60 hectares. The main attractions are Mo Chounv's former residence, Flag-raising Building, Bao Yue Building, Guangdong Army Martyrs' Tomb, Haitang Garden and Classical Furniture Hall.

In Mo Chounv's former residence, the beautiful and clever Mo Chounv stood in the yard and greeted the tourists with a smile. The former residence is a two-story building. On the first floor, there are ten paintings depicting Mo Chounv's life, namely: Luo Yang's daughter, picking herbs in the mountains, picking mulberry in a foreign land, marrying Jiankang far away, giving birth to Ahou, sending her husband to join the army in Yu Jintang Middle School, looking at autumn waters, enjoying flowers and staying forever. Inscription by Gan Long: What is the most romantic thing in Nanbang? The new words of Dongfu sing Mochow. On the second floor, there is a chess-winning building with a statue of Zhu Yuanzhang playing chess with Xu Da, named Shicheng Chess. Legend has it that Zhu Yuanzhang and Xu Da played chess, but Xu Da won or lost. He was in a dilemma and had a brainwave. He arranged the pieces on the chessboard in a pattern of "Long live". Zhu Yuanzhang was overjoyed and gave Mochou Lake to Xu Da.

Walking out of the back door of Mo Chounv's former residence is Mochou Lake Cruise Terminal (half an hour /20 yuan, deposit 50 yuan). We rented a motorboat and swam on Mochow Lake. The lake is clear and the breeze on it is cool and pleasant. On the shore of the lake, there are skyscrapers and busy modern cities on one side, and the classical charm of small bridges and flowing water and white walls and tiles on the other. The ancient and modern scenery in front of us is intertwined, which makes people daydream infinitely.

After 1500 years of historical and cultural precipitation, Mochou Lake has collected more than 200 sets of classical furniture with strange shapes and exquisite workmanship, which is rare in China. The Museum of Classical Furniture in Mochou Lake Park not only shows the unique charm of Mochou Lake classical furniture to the world, but also shows the profound historical and cultural heritage of Mochou Lake.
