The Historical Origin of Chaoyang Temple

Guangshan County, known as Gwangju in history, is the birthplace of Tiantai Sect of Buddhism in China and has an important historical position in the history of Buddhism in China. Famous ancient monks, such as Zhikai and Huisi, have all studied this. In ancient Gwangju, Buddhist culture was very prosperous and there were many monks and temples. The current Guangshan Chaoyang Temple is one of the few remaining temples.
