Branch of Zhuang dialect

Northern dialect of Zhuang language is one of the dialects of Zhuang language, which is distributed near and north of Tuoniang River, Youjiang River and Yongjiang River in Guangxi, Qiubei, Shizong, Funing and Guangnan (North) in Yunnan. Zhuang language in Lianshan, Huaiji and other places in Guangdong also belongs to the northern dialect. The user population accounts for more than 70% of the Zhuang population. Generally, there are about 30 consonants, most of which are R sounds. Except for Lianshan dialect, there is generally no aspirated voiceless sound. Most vowels are between 70 and 80. Generally, there are six relaxing sounds and two promoting sounds, and there are few kinds of sounds. There is great consistency within dialects, and there is almost no difference in grammar among dialects. The recognition rate of national inherent vocabulary is about 85%. The pronunciation is slightly different, but the correspondence is neat. Northern dialects are divided into seven dialect areas:

Northern Guangxi-Longsheng, Sanjiang, Rong 'an, Yongfu, Rongshui, Luocheng, Huanjiang, Hechi, Nandan, Tiane, Donglan and Bama in Guangxi.

Liujiang dialect area-Laibin, Liujiang, Yizhou, Liucheng and Xincheng (North) in Guangxi.

Hongshuihe Dialect Area-Hexian County, Yangshuo, Lipu, Luzhai, Guiping, Guigang, Wuxuan, Xiangzhou, Laibin (Henan), Shanglin, Xincheng (South), Du 'an, Mashan, Lianshan and Jianghua, Hunan.

Tan northern dialect areas-Yongning (North), Hengxian, Binyang, Wuming and Pingguo in Guangxi.

Guangxi Youjiang Dialect Area-Tiandong, Tian Yang and Baise.

Guangxi border dialect areas-Fengshan, Tianlin, Longlin, Xilin, Lingyun and leye county in Guangxi, Funing and Guangnan (North) in Yunnan.

Qiubei dialect area-Qiubei and Shizong in Yunnan. The southern dialect of Zhuang language is one of the dialects of Zhuang language, which is mainly distributed in Youjiang, south of Yongjiang River in Guangxi and south of Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. Claiming to have dialects, Nong dialect, Dai language and so on. Because this dialect area is geographically bordered by Vietnam, it is linguistically related to foreign countries' corresponding Tho, Nong and Tay. There are aspirated unvoiced consonants ph, th, phj, khj, khw, etc. Generally, there is no R sound category, and local reservation only appears in disyllabic numbers, and there are no J and V consonants in most places. The vowels are simplified, and many places are divided into tones and some are merged. There is little difference between grammar and northern dialect, except for some notional words and prefixes and suffixes. The consistency of dialect vocabulary is small, such as the similarity rate of inherent words between Debao and Qinzhou Zhuang language is only about 63%.

Southern dialects are divided into five dialect areas:

Yongning District, Longan County, Fusui County, Shangsi County, Qinzhou City and Fangchenggang City, Nanning City, Guangxi.

Zuojiang dialect area-Tiandeng, Daxin, Chongzuo, Ningming, Longzhou and Pingxiang in Guangxi.

Jingxi, Debao and Napo in Guangxi.

Yan Guang dialect area-Guangnan (south), Yanshan, Maguan, Wenshan, Xichou and Malipo (north) in Yunnan.

Marvin dialect areas-Wenshan (south), Malipo (south), Maguan (east), Kaiyuan, Yuanyang and some counties in southeastern Yunnan.

Generally speaking, yujiang county, Youjiang and Yongjiang are the boundaries of two dialects. Each dialect is also divided into several small dialect areas, which are often different across a river.
