After Henan pendant was widely spread all over Henan, influenced by regional language, local customs and other humanistic environment, there was a division of vocal music schools. Among the old artists in the late Qing Dynasty, there are sayings of "going to Henan pendant" and "going to Henan pendant".

According to the legend of artists, the original pendants on Henan Road mainly refer to Henan pendants in the upper reaches of He Yinghe River and Shahe River in Henan Province. The Henan pendant that landed mainly refers to the Henan pendant of Chu Ying, Ying and Bo in the lower reaches of Shahe River. Later, in Henan province, there was a saying that the east-west road in Henan fell. West Road mainly refers to the areas south of Kaifeng and Longhai Railway, south of Yellow River and east of Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, including Kaifeng, Zhengzhou, Xuchang and Luohe. Therefore, this road has three names, namely: Shanglu, Zhonglu and Xilu Henan pendant. East Road mainly refers to Henan pendant in Shangqiu, Zhoukou and other places in southeastern Henan. Because eastern Henan is greatly influenced by Henan pendants in northern Anhui, and the languages of the two places are close, Henan pendants in East Road also include Henan pendants in Ying and Bozhou.

From the artistic features, the pendant on Henan West Road was originally sung by three-string calligraphers (including Liu and three-string calligraphers), with clapping as the main symbol. Taoist priests and drum calligraphers, while joining in singing, also absorbed the voices of Henan Bangzi, Yuediao and Quju, and gradually formed "sound words and steady words" and "hard bow major". On the East Road, Henan pendant was changed from Taoist artists to singing Henan pendant, which absorbed the voices of sister arts such as Qin Shu and Sixian, and became more flexible and free in singing, forming a soft, delicate and lyrical artistic feature. It is precisely because most of Donglu's Henan pendants are Taoist artists that the original Chinese and long volumes of Taoist love letters have also been included in the folk arts of Henan pendants, such as Xiangma Biography, Civet Cat Called Prince, Five Tigers in the West, Huilong Biography and so on. So artists often say: East Road Book, West Road Section. West Road Henan pendant artists who are good at playing sketches are mostly attracted by the short and pithy sketches of Sanxianshu and Yinggeliu, such as Blue Bridge Club, Three Strings and Four Persuasions, and Money Story.

Although the pendant in eastern Henan and western Henan has the characteristics of one level, one song, one more and one softer, one longer and one shorter, the turntable and the accompaniment instrument are basically the same, and there are no other strict taboo restrictions. Therefore, in the later development, there will often be a benign integration situation in which you have me, I have you, and the tracks absorb each other.

Early East Road Henan pendant was sung by male artists, such as Liu (the father of Shangqiu Henan pendant champion Wu) and Zhang (the father of Shangqiu Henan pendant champion Zhang), which enjoyed great fame in eastern Henan. Liu studied under Hu Mingshan, a Taoist priest from Bo County, Anhui Province and Yucheng, Zhang Zhikun.

After 1930s, a number of Henan pendant artists such as Zhang, Zhang, Zhang, Zhang and Zhang emerged in Shangqiu. In addition, Xing and Lu, Henan female artists born in Bo County, Anhui Province, gathered in Shangqiu under the guidance of You and Qi Guizhi, famous folk artists from Anhui Province. Under the influence of local customs in Shangqiu, they used local operas and brother songs for reference, and constantly processed and enriched the aria of Henan pendant, making the style and characteristics of Henan pendant in Donglu more distinctive. East Road Henan pendant male artist's singing is rough and vigorous, sonorous and humorous, singing and chatting, with a very strong local flavor.

Female artists have two different ways of singing: "Wen School" and "Wu School". "Wenpai" has a soft voice and is longer than lyric, represented by Zhang. The representative "Wu Pai" is handsome in singing and is longer than passion. Zhang, the "literary champion" and "martial champion" who fell in Henan on the East Road, are called "four great talents" together with the two sisters who sing well and look beautiful.
