Where is Hongtong County?

The origin of the county name is Hongdong County, which is traditionally named after the ancient caves in the north of Hongya City in the south of the city. Sui belonged to Linfen County, and was renamed Hongdong County in the first year of Yining (AD 6 17). Since then, the county name has not changed. 1954, Hong Tong and Zhao Cheng counties merged into Zhao Hong county, and 1958 was still named Hongdong county.

Hongtong county is famous all over the country and even the world. The Nelson Museum in Kansas City, USA, has a treasure of the town hall, which is a Buddhist mural in China in the Yuan Dynasty. It was originally a sacred object in the lower hall of Guangsheng Temple in Hongtong County, Shanxi Province, China. Zhao Zang, a treasure of the National Beijing Library of China, is also a sacred object of Guangsheng Temple in Hongtong County. In addition, Hongdong people are also very famous. On the one hand, the largest migration activity in Ming Dynasty began in Hongdong, and the footprints of Hongdong people spread all over the world. On the other hand, the Hongdong people in the famous Peking Opera Yu Tang Chun are well known in the Chinese world.
