Anecdotes of Bingxin

Bing Xin is a female writer with unique style and rich works in the history of modern literature in China. The lively and cheerful Mr. Bing Xin also created a humorous and unique "banter" Baota poem.

As for the reasons for writing this poem, Bing Xin introduced it in detail in the article My Wife Wu Wenzao. This paper holds that Mr. Zao, as a famous modern educator, one of the founders of sociology and the originator of ethnology, is simple, serious and withdrawn.

From 65438 to 0929, after their marriage, Mr. Wu and Bing Xin were even more distracted, and almost all their thoughts and energies were spent on learning knowledge and teaching (Wu was also a professor in yenching university and Tsinghua University at that time), so he seemed "bookish" when dealing with some daily affairs. One day, Bing Xin and Wu Wenzao went to the city to visit Bing Xin's father. After arriving at Bing Xin's father's house, Bing Xin asked Mr. Wu to go to the streets to buy "Saqima" (a snack) for his children and double noodles for his father. At that time, Mr. Wu's children were still babbling. When it comes to "Saqima", they don't say "Saqima", but generally only "Ma". Unexpectedly, Mr. Wu will only say "buy a horse" when he arrives at the pastry shop.

He felt puzzled and called Bing Xin's family to ask. Bing Xin knew that Mr. Wu had played another big joke, and the family couldn't help laughing when they heard about it. On another occasion, the Bingxin family enjoyed flowers in front of the building where they lived. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Bing Xin's family moved to Chenggong, Yunnan. One weekend evening, Mr. Mei Yiqi, then president of Tsinghua University, his wife and several classmates from Tsinghua University came to Bing Xin's home as a guest. During the chat, Mr. Bing Xin wrote this poem on the spot, venting his "resentment" against Mr. Wu for Tsinghua University (since he was admitted to Tsinghua School on 19 16 and went to study in the United States on 1923, Mr. Wu studied and lived in Tsinghua School, the predecessor of Tsinghua, for nearly eight years).
