When the ship enters the dry dock for repair, firstly, water is injected into the dock with irrigation and drainage facilities. When the water level inside and outside the dock is even, open the dock door and slowly pull the boat into the dock with traction equipment. When the repaired or built ship leaves the dock, firstly, fill the dock with water until the water level inside and outside the dock door is even, then open the dock door and guide the ship out of the dock.

When the ship to be repaired enters the dock, the water tank should be filled to make the water depth in the dock meet the requirements for the ship to enter the dock, and the ship should be pulled into the dock with traction equipment, and then the water in the water tank should be drained to make the dock float to the bottom of the dock to expose the water surface, and then the operation can be started. After the ship is repaired, follow the reverse procedure. Floating docks are generally made of steel structure or reinforced concrete, and are set in the waters near the shipyard with good water depth, less sediment and heavy waves.
