The Historical Origin of Chongsheng Temple in Xuefeng

Why is Xuefeng Temple in Yangmeishan named after Xuefeng Temple on Xuefeng Mountain in Minhou, Fuzhou, which is known as the "southern jungle" of the world? This is closely related to the creation of temples in the two places and the same founder, namely the famous Zen master of Yamato Shangyi Village in the Buddhist history of China. In 527 AD, in the autumn of the first year of Datong, Liang Wudi, Dharma brought the Buddhist sect handed down by Sakyamuni Buddha to China and became the ancestor of the East. Since then, Zen has indeed spawned the Qingyuan School and the Nanyue School, and from these two schools, Lin Ji, Luyang, Cao Dong, Yunmen and Fayan have been derived. The five sects flourished and were handed down from generation to generation. Over the past 1000 years, they have had a far-reaching impact on the Buddhist community and hundreds of millions of people in China. Two cases, Cloud Gate and Fa Yan, came from the gate of a village. The name of Xuefeng began to appear in Yangmeishan. More than one hundred years later, in the third year of the Southern Song Dynasty (1243), a God-given monk came to the mountain grave to repair buddhist nun, calling himself the "third floor" because he pursued the monk Muyi Village and loved his parents' mountains and rivers. Later, it was expanded by fundraising. Known as the white horse. After hundreds of years, the temple has been repaired and expanded several times and has become a scale. The world calls this temple "Little Xuefeng", and the Xuefeng Temple in Minhou is "Big Xuefeng". According to the textual research of Professor Wang of Xiamen University, it should be that the Xuefeng Temple in Nan 'an was first built when Yicun was 49 years old, that is, before the Daxuefeng Temple was founded in Houguan (Minhou County).
