Xiangshan is located in Xiangshan Road, Xiang 'an District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, east of Xiamen City, southeast of Xiang 'an District, and south of Hung-chien Mountain. The elevation of the main peak is176m, and the land for Zhouling Scenic Area is10.38km2.. Xiangshan Scenic Area is bounded by Jiuxi in the west, Shuiqiong Line in the north, Liushui Line in the south, Hung-chien Mountain Road in the east, and Xiangshan Rock Temple as the center, radiating to the surrounding Lutang Folk Culture Village and many scenic spots.

Xiangshan Scenic Area is rich in human landscape. Many cultural relics, such as Xiangshan Rock Temple and Xiangshan Academy, built in 1 127, ancient residential villages in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the only private folk opera art school in Fujian Province, have formed a unique folk cultural landscape in Xiangshan.

Xiangshan Rock Temple in Xiang 'an, Xiamen was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 127). At the peak, there are hundreds of monks and nuns. It is the largest temple in Xiang 'an District, and also the general altar of Qingshui ancestor in Xiamen, Nan 'an and Jinmen. Next to Huiguo Wengong Temple is the magnificent "Xiangshan Rock" Hall, where the ancestors with dark face and clear water are enshrined, and the incense is very strong.

"Xiangshan" was originally called "barren hill". Zhu Zeng, a master of Neo-Confucianism in the Southern Song Dynasty and the chief bookkeeper of Tongxin Tongan County, visited here several times and heard the fragrance of everything, so he renamed the "barren mountain" as a "hidden place" and carved a stone to erect a monument. On the east side of Xiangshan Rock Temple, there is a "Wengong Temple", also known as "Xiangshan Academy", which was built in memory of Zhu.
