The most magical Taoist temple in Sichuan, designed and built like a maze according to the eight diagrams, is called "Sichuan mysterious temple"

Since ancient times, the mountain is not high, there are immortals, and there must be Taoist temples among immortals. There are so many immortals and temples in Sichuan that many outstanding people are unknown to the public. In Pengxi County, Suining City, Sichuan Province, there is a Taoist fairy mountain with beautiful scenery. The labyrinth of Taoist temples and the giant statue of Laozi in the mountain are wonders, so they are famous far and near, which makes this mountain enjoy the reputation of "the first mountain in northern Sichuan", "the scenic spot in central Sichuan" and "the first peak in central Sichuan".

This mountain is located in Wenjing Town, 23 kilometers north of Pengxi County. It's called Mount Gao Feng. Located at the junction of Pengxi, Shehong and Xichong counties. Known as "three counties in one mountain", it is 547 meters above sea level. It is the highest mountain in Pengxi County. Because the mountain is shaped like a palm, it is called "Five Doors Fairy Mountain". There is a Taoist temple in the mountains, named Gao Feng Mountain Taoist Temple, which was once in central Sichuan.

According to historical records, Gao Feng has Gao Feng Temple, which is a Buddhist holy place. Founded in the early Tang Dynasty, it has a history of 1300 years. After the rise and fall of several dynasties, temples have always been the place where monks lived until the late Qing Dynasty. In the early years of the Republic of China, Yunfeng Fan, a Taoist priest in Xichong, built a Taoist temple on Gao Feng Mountain and changed it into a Taoist place. Yunfeng Fan sent disciples to spread teachings everywhere, making Gao Feng famous all over the world. At that time, it was favored by military and political officials and celebrities in the Republic of China. Many celebrities visited Gao Feng and presented a lot of plaques and property. Gao Feng Mountain Taoist Temple reached its peak in the Republic of China and became a legend in the history of Taoism in the Republic of China.

Most Taoist temples in Gaofengshan were rebuilt and expanded from the Qing Dynasty to the early years of the Republic of China, covering an area of more than 50 mu and a building area of more than 5,200 square meters. They are all wood and stone structures, divided into two floors, designed and built according to the structure of innate gossip. The whole Taoist temple is like a maze, which is very rare in ethnic temples and monasteries. It is the most distinctive place of Gao Feng Taoist Temple.

On the mountainside of Gaofeng Mountain, there are four gates. According to the four hexagrams of Gan, Kun, Kan and Li in innate gossip, and according to the "Four Elephants", four ascending and descending paths are built. There are more than 400 doors, large and small, in the Taoist temple building, which are divided into main entrance, side door, health door, dead door, and organ back channel. The gatehouses are connected, the cloisters are connected, the structure is tortuous, and the cloisters are everywhere, including the palace of Mother Earth.

These eight diagrams maze buildings were originally preserved for more than 100 years and are still intact. They are outstanding in traditional ancient buildings and have high artistic value. They have been listed as national cultural relics protection units. However, in 20 17, a fire broke out in Gao Feng Mountain Taoist Temple, which destroyed the mountain gate and some halls. Fortunately, the ancient buildings of the Eight Diagrams Labyrinth have not been destroyed, which makes people lament its magic again.

There is a huge statue of Laozi on the mountainside. Laozi, the founder of the Taoist school, is regarded as the ancestor of Taoism in Taoism, and is called "the old gentleman on the throne". The statue was built in 2005 and is about 36 meters high. It is the largest statue of Laozi in China and is called "the best in the world". Laozi's statue and Taoist temple complement each other, and it is also called the two wonders of Gao Feng with the ancient buildings of Bagua maze.
