As a disciple of Buddha, self-study. We should make four wishes: endless wishes for all beings, endless wishes for troubles, endless wishes for Buddhism and endless wishes for Buddhism and Taoism.
As for doing more good, you should do it whether you are kind or not. Doing good is the foundation of practice. Why do good deeds? From the causal point of view, good and evil are rewarded. Doing good deeds is to accumulate virtue for oneself, to facilitate others, but with a sincere desire to help others.
The most important thing for Buddhists to do good is to do ten good deeds, without killing, stealing, fornication, nonsense, slurring, cursing, greed, anger and stupidity.
