The word "closed door" comes from the Book of Changes-the late king even closed door to Japan. What is the ultimate goal? You will close the door then. This is not an explanation. China calendar has two solstice days, summer solstice day and winter solstice day, summer solstice day cloudy, winter solstice day sunny. The solstice in winter is between November of the lunar calendar. The sun rises in winter, and the sun shines. It means to restore divination and use the sun to restore vitality. The second sun is in December, and the third sun is at the beginning of the first month. The so-called "Three Yang Kai Tai" and "Heaven and Earth Divination", also known as "Three Yang Kai Tai", means good luck. At present, the first month of the lunar calendar is the beginning of a year, which is the culture of the Zhou Dynasty. In Shang Dynasty, the ugly month in December was the beginning of a year. In Xia Dynasty, November is the beginning of a year, which means a sunny winter solstice.

What did China's ancestor, the late king, do when he was closed to the outside world? Fasting and bathing. Fasting is not vegetarianism, and vegetarianism is not fasting. Actually, vegetarianism cannot be called vegetarianism. What is vegetarianism? It is hard to say that vegetarians are white, but it should be said that it is most accurate not to eat meat. What's more, it can't be said that fasting is pure. The real fasting is "turning over a new leaf and hiding in secret". You wash your heart clean, you can't have any ideas and you can't find them. So it's called hiding in a secret.

Later, Buddhism entered China and used the word "closed door". When studying Buddhism, don't talk about seclusion easily. There are two words in Zen Buddhism: "You can't go into the mountains without laying a foundation, and you can't close the door when you return to the customs." Before enlightenment, you are not qualified to live in the mountains, because your physical and mental troubles are not clean. Even in the cleanest place, you still have troubles. You should be enlightened, break the reference, break the initial barriers, and be clear-headed. At the beginning of customs clearance, there is nothing to see, and at the end of customs clearance, there are things to be repaired. This time is a fixed day and night. The real retreat is not to worship Buddha and recite scriptures. There is nothing in the closed room except a futon, a kettle and some simple things. Now, the door is closed. What are you closing? Guanyin Pass and Jingjing Pass are all passes.

We talked for a long time to explain "Pure Bodhisattva stops". Please note that Mahayana Bodhisattva is not only enlightenment, but also enlightenment, and more importantly, a wish. Is your behavior really beneficial to the world and people? If you just want to practice Buddhism, then eat vegetables and carrots, regardless of anything. That's not Bodhisattva Road.

The Jue Yuan Sutra says that when you settle down in summer, you must find such a pure bodhisattva to study with. I mentioned closing the door just now. Some students are going to close their doors. Why do you close the door? I want to take a specialized course. Why take it? What are you going to fix? Do you know how to practice? Is there any way? Do you know what will happen next when you reach this state? I don't know. How do you repair it? For example, meditation shakes, so what if it shakes? Shake it there To what extent do you say that qi and veins are connected? Go there? I don't understand any of this. How do you specialize? How do you close your door? The ancients closed the country according to the master's statement! It is the teacher who takes care of your retreat, and it is good knowledge that really protects the customs. I will tell you what to do next at any time. Some of my old friends said they were going to retreat. Who will take care of you? I have students, I have apprentices, okay! You turn it off!

Master Hanshan said, "It's easy to get down among thorns, but it's hard to turn around under the moonlight curtain." As you are distracted now, delusions and troubles can't be broken, and thorns and weeds are stabbing you all the way. It's easy to trample it down with one foot in this confusion! But being careful and pure, having no distractions, being able to do things at any time and having no thoughts at any time, is equal to a clear breeze and bright moon, and a cloudless state in Wan Li. At this time, it is difficult to turn around under the moon curtain, from idling to further! If you pass this step, you will be re-cleared. Attention! Don't just close the door! According to the rules of Zen, "Don't break ginseng, don't enter the mountain". If you don't break ginseng, you can't live in the mountains, and you are not qualified to live in Mao Peng. "Don't close the door until you re-enter the customs, and then go further and break the penultimate prison." These are the old rules.

The monastic place is not there, everything is in your heart. A few years ago, I was going to close the door and look around. Many classmates and old friends invited me. When I saw some houses, I told them there weren't any. If someone wants to give us land, I have to build a house. When it is finished, maybe I should turn my retreat into a closed coffin. Suddenly, I thought, I'm stupid myself. Where else can I find it? The city can be closed, and the place where I live will be closed as soon as the door is closed! If you close your heart, you will close it. Where can it be called a retreat? So people think I went to the top of a mountain, but in fact I have been locked in the city for three years. Close the door by yourself, and it will be closed that day. Don't deliberately find a clean place to practice becoming a monk. Your heart is unclean. It's no use going anywhere! This is the truth of the Dojo. What temple are you looking for? Going to the temple is not good for you! The same troubles, the same pain. You're amazing. After that, hey Any painful place is a Dojo. Attention! This is the main point of Mahayana Buddhism.

When I was initially closed to the outside world, I had to leave homework for myself. I thought to myself, there are buddhas, bodhisattvas and protectors watching you everywhere. Confucius also said that "it is not good for a villain to live an idle life." Ordinary people and villains relax as long as they have leisure. In fact, laziness, slackness and idleness are sins in themselves, so Buddhism stresses thrift. Personally, I have never slacked off closing the door, and I have been working hard 24 hours a day. Sleep is also one of the lessons. Take care of yourself and don't sleep too much.

According to the legend of the clan, "never stop rooting, never go into the mountains, never close the door until it closes again." I don't know when this meaning began. Only Zen master Yongjia dissuaded Master Zuo Xilang from writing, saying that you should not go into the mountains unless you know your heart. If the spring rocks are rushing, the strange rocks and valleys will cause trouble. Although the environment is clear, the heart is not clean, and it is useless. If you have a clean heart, although you are in it, it is like a mountain forest, so why go into the mountains to find your way! What does the teacher mean by "re-closing" the door? On the occasion of the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, all the brothers in the peak couldn't get out of the mountain, especially the firewood in the peak was tied as a niche, and the wind passed through the day, and the winter and summer were not fanned, and the day was delayed, marking the end of life. Although Buddhism is lonely and pure, it has almost changed with the times, and it is a bad way to keep it!

Zen retreat is different from the usual pattern, that is, "the standard cross arm does not see people, straight into the thousand peaks." This must be the beginning of the portal, going to the customs to break through. This is a big event, so we can't rush it. Otherwise, people's years are wasted, people's affairs are urgent, and self-interest and altruism are everywhere, so why bother to do it! If you are not clear-headed, the taboo words in the room, floating delusions, trying to hold back, shallow illness into madness, deep self-harm, this can be seen at any time. As for being addicted to Guan Zhong's music, it's another matter to take something else. Dress yourself well and sit back and relax.

Only Tibetan tantra, close to Taoism, is different from Zen. Tantric Buddhism is different from "black customs" and "white customs". Practitioners in Guanzhong must be pampered, carefree and not tired in order to concentrate on their studies. Taoism, on the other hand, is called "when in Rome, follow the Tao", which requires four conditions: borrowing law, wealth, marriage and land. The methods are different, so record them for reference.

No matter what the way to close the door is, it should be regarded as an ascetic and difficult thing. If the Bank of China is "ignorant" or "sedentary", if it is all about asceticism and merit, it will be useless. However, it is also commendable! But you should know that asceticism is not Tao, it is just an ear to help Tao. Give good songs, such as:

Monk that Zen master, surnamed Ma, is young and handsome. At the age of twenty-one, he spoke about Yi Lee in the East China Sea, and his audience was like a city. When I met my second ancestor, I became a monk. Naturally, I don't write, I abandon the secular world, only a bowl of clothes, a meal and a trip to Buddhism. Later, it was said that the master was full of wisdom: his father was impressed by his heart and did not specialize in asceticism, but helped the Tao. If you are true to your heart and use your true light at will, you will be as hard as gold. If you only do asceticism, but you don't know your true intentions and are bound by hatred, then asceticism is like a dark moonlit night, and you are walking on a dangerous road. ..... When I was full, I became a monk, but I saved two needles, begging in winter and quitting in summer. I have no fear in my heart and sleep without dreams. I often beg for food, but when I go to Galand, I will chop wood to make shoes, so I don't have to stay. In the sixteenth year of Zhenguan, I stayed in the ancient tomb beside the Shanhui Temple in Luoyang. In heavy snow, I went to the temple to see Master Tan Kuang, who was always strange. People say: Buddhism comes and goes! Look for that place. There is five feet of snow on all sides. Kuang Yue: Unpredictable!

It's like living in a secluded forest and drinking a stream. At the beginning of Tianbao in the Northern Qi Dynasty, when I heard that the second ancestor was prosperous, I asked for a certificate and sealed the national seal. When the bull's head melts, there are no four ancestors, and there are hundreds of birds and flowers in the secluded rock room. After the introduction of the law, Huang Mei planned the prosperity of the law city. In Tang Yonghui, disciples were short of food, and the teacher went to Danyang. Eighty miles up the mountain, the bow bears one stone and eight fights, and at dusk it belongs to 300 monks, and there is no shortage of two points. You melted the Zen master, lived in a cave at first, and then lost rice for the public! Negative rice and caves are ascetic monks, why are they completely different? Bodhisattva teaches people, and the leader donates it himself. It is difficult to do asceticism, and the secret is different, but how difficult it is to make a wish with everyone!

Speculation of Zen Sea

Buddhism and Taoism meditation is called retreat, and this retreat also appears in the Book of Changes-"The first king even closed Japan." Attention! "Solstice" is the winter solstice and the summer solstice. If the teachers don't pass on the phrase "close to the sun", no one can read those books. I've suffered, and I don't want you to eat. I'll tell you when I know. Everyone wants to learn Taoism. If you learn how to give orders, you will become a soldier. If you don't want to be Zhuge Liang, be Zhuge Liang! This knowledge is profound, not that simple. Like Taoist magic, gossip is unclear, and what kind of yin dun and yang dun are all confused! It's hard to understand. My brain doesn't like math, so it's very painful to learn. After I know it, I will leave it behind and just know it. I am curious about knowledge. I must want to know what I don't know, and if I know it, I will forget it. There is a formula for learning Taoism:

Yin and yang are hard to be poor, and the second is to return home.

If you can achieve the principle of yin and yang, heaven and earth are one hand.

"Yin and Yang are good but difficult to be poor", and Yin and Yang are good but difficult to be poor. The cleverness of this is that the laws of the universe are wonderful and difficult to differ. You'll never make it. Just one or two words can knock me down. I always thought I was smart in reading, but I failed the exam. "Second, the return of the native, the nineteenth house", bad! I don't have a palace or a house. Where can I have a palace? Don't say this, what about "returning home"? I don't understand fortune tellers who look at feng shui. Some people who know just laugh, because learning this formula requires kowtowing and worshipping the door. Some people look at his appearance. If he is a heretic, it is not a great honor! I can't worship, I can't worship books and I can't understand them. What is "two return to hometown"? In fact, it is the solstice of winter and the solstice of summer, one yin and one yang, and one shun and one inverse return to that standard.

"Second, returning to hometown, one is the beginning of Yang number, and nine is the pole of Yang number, which is not simple from beginning to end. These four sentences are the most tempting, but if I say them now, even if you all understand them, you won't understand them. It's not that simple! This sentence just tells you the rules. It's really wonderful to be obedient or not. Do you really understand? So now we have to explain that the second solstice, the winter solstice and the summer solstice, is consistent and contrary. There is a saying in the Book of Changes that "the late king even closed the Japanese door", which is the ancient culture of China. Close the door alone, every day and every month. At that time, he would abstain from abstinence and bathing, which was meditation. Take Buddhism as an example, that is, six dusts are locked up, which is called a closed door. " Zhi "is when the sun comes back, or when it is cloudy." If you master the laws of heaven and earth at this time, you meditate for one hour, that is, two hours, which is equivalent to three months' work. Of course, this is bragging and encouragement, but it is true that if you meditate at the right time, the effect is absolutely equal to how many times you sit.

Zen says, "You can't go into the mountains without breaking the roots, and you can't close the door after re-entry." You can't go into the mountains without being born, and you can't close the door. Because at some point, you don't know how to change your time. Who are you going to ask? Unless your teacher is also in Guanzhong. Once upon a time, a friend of our predecessors closed the door to the outside world. His teacher knew that the apprentice's work had reached a certain stage. When he was helpless, the teacher stood in front of him, told him what to do, and then left. Unless you have such a teacher, it is difficult to find such a teacher!

"manage yin and Hubei, concentrate on adults." After understanding this truth, you should "operate" and earn bit by bit like doing business. "Raise Yin and Hubei", Yin and Hubei are dikes, so you should make your own dikes, like city walls. We often say that the second ancestor Shen Guang, a disciple of Buddhism, asked, how should Zen study hard? Father Dharma said: "If there is gas outside, there is no gas inside, and the heart is like a wall, then you can enter the Tao." In fact, Buddhism and Taoism are the same. When I wrote the book "Participating in Tong Qi", Father Dharma had not come to China, but it was two hundred years later. This sentence said by the founder of Dharma is the same as "managing and raising Yin and Hubei, concentrating on becoming a body", but the expression is different.

It is easy for us to understand the "external interests" mentioned by the founder of Dharma. Monks ignore everything outside, close their eyes and meditate, ignoring the dead. Really selfish. Practicing Buddhism is absolutely selfish. Selfishness can only be selfless when it is extreme. You must be good to yourself before you can be good to others! If you like swimming, how can you jump into the sea to save people if you can't swim? This "breathlessness" means that the mind is not moving. At this time, breathing has stopped and my thoughts have been cleaned up. "Heart is like a wall", isolated from the inside and outside, and isolated from the inside of the wall. This is not the Tao! Father Dharma said, "You can enter the Tao". So pay attention to the latter sentence. Some people say that "breathing all around, not breathing inside" is the way, no! This just means that you have to be isolated from the outside to qualify for Taoist temple. This is also the time to "manage and raise Yin and Hubei" and return to Yang.

"Concentrate on it", at this time, for those who study Buddhism, it is called cultivation; Taoists talk about function, not principle. "Dingli" is the most powerful, as if solidified and condensed, and "Dingli Chengti" condensed this function, gradually forming a body in vitro, and achieving a new life inside or outside life.

There is a saying in Buddhist practice: "Don't stop rooting, don't go into the mountains, don't go back." You are not qualified to live in the mountains without initial consciousness. You said you were going to practice in the mountains, but you didn't realize anything. How are you going to practice in the mountains? "Managing Yin and Hubei" is just a breakthrough, and you are not qualified to live in the mountains! After the "concentration", we have to go back to the customs. The so-called outside world can really be closed. Nowadays, when a door is locked, it is called a closed door. You can study or write in prison. That's not monasticism, that's seclusion. You don't even need books. It's nothing, or it's just a bed or even a futon. You live in seclusion all day, which means "the late king closed his grandson".
