Laixi is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, which is managed by Qingdao.

1March, 950, Laiyang and Laixi South County merged and became Laixi County. In June, it was transferred to Laiyang area.

1958 10, Laixi and Laiyang counties merged and called Laiyang county.

1962 1, Laixi and Laiyang counties are divided into two parts, both of which belong to Yantai area.

1983 10, Laixi County was assigned to Qingdao. 199 1 February, Laixi county was abolished and Laixi city was established.

Laixi City is located in the middle of Jiaodong Peninsula and belongs to Qingdao. Laixi City is located in the middle of Jiaodong Peninsula, between Qingdao, Weifang, Yantai and Weihai, and is known as "the back garden of Qingdao".
