Is the emperor shunzhi really a monk?

The emperor shunzhi died of smallpox. The emperor shunzhi succeeded to the throne at the age of 6, and was the first emperor in the Qing Dynasty. The emperor shunzhi made great efforts to develop the Qing Dynasty. However, the government was dominated by Dourgen since childhood, and Shunzhi was unhappy.

There are different opinions about the cause of death of Shunzhi in history, and several of them are widely circulated.

First, he died of smallpox. Ancient medicine was not very developed, but smallpox was popular for some time during the Shunzhi period. Emperor Kangxi had it and he took it with him. Maybe he finally became emperor because he got smallpox and won't get it again, but Shunzhi was infected with smallpox and didn't carry it, so he died.

The second is to become a monk. According to legend, Shunzhi liked Dong E Fei, but after Dong E Fei's death, Shunzhi saw through the world of mortals and became a monk.
