Lu fortune-telling

Fortune-telling is a custom in China's traditional culture. People usually go to the temple to pray for a sign on the fifteenth day of the first month or the Lantern Festival evening from the second day to the sixteenth day of the first month. Opening Lu means asking the gods to write an auspicious sign for themselves or their families to answer the doubts of present life or predict the future direction.

The ancient fortune-telling culture spread widely, and the people who prayed for blessings were mainly concentrated in the countryside. Different regions, folk customs and beliefs have created five schools of fortune-telling culture, namely, North School, South School, Jin School, Sichuan School and Hunan School. Each faction has its own characteristics and methods, and its purpose is to solve people's doubts and pray for the protection of gods and buddhas to avoid suffering.
