This temple in our country is free, and some people can't get in. Why?

At the west foot of Lushan Mountain in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, there is an ancient temple. It is understood that the temple has a history of more than 1600 years, and it is one of the temples with a long history on Lushan Mountain. It is Toringi, which has experienced many vicissitudes.

In 386 AD, Master Hui Yuan, a famous monk in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, presided over the establishment of Tolin Temple. Because it is located in the east of sairinji, it is called Torin Temple. This temple is the birthplace of Pure Land Sect of Buddhism, namely Lotus Sect. Both Pure Land Sect and Pure Land Sect of Japanese Buddhism take Tolin Temple as their ancestral home, which shows how high their status is in the history of Buddhism. By the Han and Tang Dynasties, Tolin Temple had become one of the eight Buddhist Dojo in China. In the Tang Dynasty, Jian Zhen, a famous monk, came to Torinji of Lushan Mountain and introduced Lindong religion to Japan. To this day, Japanese Lindong religion still regards Hui Yuan as its ancestor.

The architectural layout of Tuolin Temple adopts the classical spatial hierarchical layout of ancient mountain buildings in China, which makes the whole Lindong Pure Land Garden built on the mountain. Torin Temple was transformed into seven gardens, including three temples, pagodas and pagodas. Each garden has its own characteristics. The core Buddha statue, Lindong Buddha, is the tallest statue of Amitabha in the world. The main Buddha is 48 meters high and the Lotus Platform is 6 meters high. In addition, the total height of the treasure cover is 8 1 m, which means that it is not easy to become a Buddha. Beside the main Buddha, there are four bodhisattvas. Like Buddha statues, they are all wrapped in real gold, totaling 48 kilograms. Real gold is also coated to prevent gold from being oxidized. The entire Lindong Giant Buddha project cost 654.38+0 billion yuan, making the giant Buddha solemn and magnificent.

In the history of 1000 years, Toringi was destroyed many times, not only by wind and rain, but also by people. In the special era of last century, 1967 Toringi suffered a catastrophe. The Buddha statues and utensils in the temple were smashed; The copper tower of the Diamond Sutra in the Ming Dynasty was demolished and then sold as waste. The monks in the temple have all left, and the host, Master Guo Yi, has been sent to Jiu Feng Reclamation Field. The efforts of countless people were destroyed.

1978, Lushan Administration decided to allocate funds for the restoration of Tuolin Temple, and invited Master Guo Yi to return to the temple to preside over it. Soon, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Jiangxi Province, and it was opened to people all over the world as the first Buddhist holy place in Jiangxi Province. From 65438 to 0983, Tolin Temple was listed as one of the national key temples and one of the three international exchange Dojo in Jiangxi Province. In the past few years, many tourists from home and abroad have come to visit Toringi every year, either for fun or for prayer. Unlike some temples, temples don't accept tickets and don't recite Buddha. Instead, they provide free vegetarian meals for tourists. In today's society, there are only a handful of clean temples like Tolin Temple, so it is called "the purest temple in China".

However, Torin Temple is not open to everyone, and it also has its own rules. For example, such women are not allowed to enter the temple. It is those women who wear short skirts and other revealing clothes who will be thrown out after being discovered by the temple people. It's not discrimination against women, but a Buddhist shrine. Temples require appropriate clothes, and men are not allowed to enter Toringi without appropriate clothes.
