Kings of all ages wished they could rule longer, and Gan Long was no exception. He ruled for more than 60 years. If he hadn't met a fortune teller, his rule might have been longer.

Gan Long has always liked southern China. He will meet this fortune teller when traveling in the south of the Yangtze River. At that time, he was wandering with courtiers in the alley on the street, and when he strolled around, he saw a fortune-telling booth. This fortune-telling booth is very deserted, so it is particularly eye-catching in the busy street, so Qianlong asked a fortune-teller to help him calculate a divination out of interest.

The fortune teller took a brief look at Gan Long, and then began to tell them one by one. Qianlong, who didn't care much about it, gradually focused on what the fortune teller said, because he was too accurate. After the fortune teller finished speaking, Qianlong also praised it. Just as they were about to leave, the fortune teller asked Gan Long a word, and then said: If you continue to occupy a high position, you will die soon. If you abdicate in time, you can live for three more years.

After the previous fortune-telling process, Ganlong naturally didn't think the fortune-teller was talking nonsense. He was deeply shocked when he heard this. After all, the fortune teller saw through too many things, so he ordered someone to find a chance to kill the man. When they returned to the palace, Qianlong gave way to his son and died three years later.
