Fangshan Bauxite Area in Yuzhou

The mining area is located in Xiazhuang Village and xiang tang Bay Village, Fangshan Town, Yuzhou City, about 30km southeast of Yuzhou, and connected by simple roads. Its geographical coordinates are north latitude1131'39 "~1312' 56" and north latitude 34 15' 20 "~ 34 ". The mining area is rectangular, 4000 meters long from north to south and 2000 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 8 square kilometers.

During the period of 1978~ 198 1 year, the third metallurgical geological team of Henan province conducted geological exploration in this mining area and submitted medium-sized and high-quality bauxite. At present, the mine has been mined by Chinalco Zhongzhou Branch, with an annual output of about 90,000 tons of high-quality bauxite.

The mining area is located in the southwest wing of Baisha syncline and the middle of Zheng Zhuang-Huangdao bauxite belt. The strata in the area are generally monoclinic inclined to the east, with local occurrence changes. The structure in the area is simple, and there are several faults, which can be divided into northeast and northwest groups according to the strike. The former group is more common.

There are many outcrops on the mainland. Upper Carboniferous benxi formation ore-bearing rock series is covered with Middle Ordovician limestone. Because the underlying basement karst is very developed, the thickness of ore-bearing rock series changes greatly. The minimum thickness in the whole area is 2m and the maximum thickness is 1 10m(ZK 1).

There are 29 ore bodies in the mining area, of which 16 is a large ore body. Ore bodies occur in the middle and upper part of ore-bearing rock series, which are layered, lenticular and barrel-dissolved, and generally distribute in the north-south direction. The dip angle of layered and lenticular ore bodies is generally 90 ~120, and the dip angle is about 25. The occurrence of bucket-shaped ore body inclines from the periphery to the center, and the profile seems to be inclined with short axis.

The main ore bodies in this area are 16, with a length of 68 ~ 700m and a width of 36 ~ 340m m. The ore bodies are small in scale and scattered. Due to the special development of underlying basement karst, karst bucket-shaped and lenticular ore bodies are widespread and have huge thickness. The average thickness of ore bodies in the whole area is 10.67m, but the center thickness of 13 ore body distributed in deep solution bucket is nearly 60m, which is really rare.

Among the 16 main ore bodies, 10 ore bodies have reached Grade I requirements, and most of them are buried in depth and can be mined in open pit.

The ore is dark gray, grayish yellow and other colors. The common ore types are clastic ore, oolitic ore, dense massive ore and honeycomb porous ore, especially the first two are the most common.

The mass fraction of diaspore in ore is 70%~98%. Diaspore is not only primary, but also epigenetic. Kaolinite has a small mass fraction and uneven distribution, which has mutual metasomatism with diaspore. In addition, boehmite, mica minerals and iron minerals can also be seen in the ore. Trace accessory minerals mainly include rutile, sphene, plagioclase and quartz. The ores in this area are characterized by high aluminum, high potassium and low sulfur. The average mass fractions of Al2O3, SiO2, Fe2O3, TiO2, CaO, MgO, K2O, Na2O, S and P2O5 are 68.62%, 8.5 1%, 3.68%, 3.2 1% and 0.05, respectively. The average ratio of Al to Si is 8.06, which is a typical ore-rich type.

The mass fraction of associated beneficial component Ga is stable, with the average value of 0.0097% in the whole region, which meets the general industrial requirements of comprehensive utilization.
