He' nan laojunmiao

Luyi County is the hometown of Laozi, the founder of Taoism, with laojunmiao.

Laojunmiao consists of Mingdao Palace, Sage Bridge, Yingxi Wall and Saint Sendai. The core building is Sheng Sendai. According to legend, Lao Tzu soared on this day after becoming an immortal, hence the name. Tai Shang Lao Jun was called "Tai Shang Lao Jun" by Tang posthumous title, also known as "Lao Jun Tai".

Landing in Sendai is an ancient brick building. The bluestone steps outside the mountain gate, together with the steps in front of the main hall, just conform to the theory that Laozi rose to the 33rd floor. The mountain gate is composed of main hall, partial hall and other buildings, which are dedicated to the old gentleman. There are 13 juniper trees in the courtyard, which are lush and the birds are singing. The lake under the stage is lingering, sparkling and hazy, and the scenery is pleasant.

? On Sendai, an eight-foot-high iron column was passed down by the people as the "mountain whip" of the old gentleman.

Laojunmiao is a building that Japanese fear. 1938, 1 June (the fourth day of the fifth lunar month), Japanese invaders attacked Luyi County. The towering Laojuntai was regarded as a military stronghold by the Japanese, so they shelled and tried to blow it up. As a result, 13 shells were fired, and none of them exploded.

The Japanese army was very surprised. When they climbed up, they couldn't help being surprised. I saw two shells penetrate the gables, one hit the beam on the west side of the main hall, and the other landed on the shrine of the old gentleman, but none of them exploded. The Japanese army went into the city to spy on the rear, and when they learned that this was Laojun's ascension to Sendai, they were so scared that they fell to their knees in front of the statue of Laojun and kowtowed again and again, begging Laojun for forgiveness.

The bullet marks on the east side of the Sage Taitung, the gables and the ancient cypress trees are still clearly visible, and none of the 13 shells exploded, which has become a historical mystery. Taishang Laojun Temple is amazing!
