The Jade Emperor asked the Tathagata to surrender to the Monkey King for a reason: on the one hand, the Monkey King was so powerful that his own men could not surrender him, and as the master of heaven, he could not do it easily. The Monkey King really gave him a headache in front of the Monkey King, so he asked the Buddha to surrender him. On the other hand, the Jade Emperor was very surprised by the arrival of the Monkey King. How can a monkey with high mana come out for no reason? Therefore, the Jade Emperor also meant to test the Tathagata. Facts have proved that the Monkey King is indeed a talented person trained by the Tathagata in order to obtain the true scriptures. Otherwise, the Jade Emperor and the Tathagata can completely kill the Monkey King. But the Tathagata restricted the Monkey King's action with a mountain, but didn't really kill the Monkey King.
