Umbilical cord inserted from the edge of placenta is called racket placenta.

(1) Racket placenta usually does not cause umbilical cord rupture during pregnancy, nor does it affect the baby, so pregnant women need not worry too much. As long as you don't do heavy manual work and feel too nervous, there won't be much problem. However, it should be noted that the umbilical cord will be easily compressed during delivery, leading to hypoxia, ischemia and suffocation of the baby. (2) If the blood supply of the racket placenta is not good, it may affect the embryonic development. Therefore, it is suggested that pregnant women stay in bed on the left side, pay attention to fetal movement, check regularly, and remind doctors during delivery to avoid excessive umbilical cord involvement and umbilical cord rupture.

(3) It is recommended to eat more fruits and vegetables and exercise properly.

Normal placenta thickness is 2.5-3.8㎝, and the maximum is not more than 5cm. Too thick or too thin placenta is abnormal. Placental thickening generally suggests complications of pregnant women, and the growth of the fetus in the uterus is somewhat abnormal. As long as the placenta thickness is within the normal range, there is no need to worry. In the third trimester, the placental grade should be tested regularly to ensure the normal development of the fetus.
