Method of offering Buddha

There are many ways to support buddhas and bodhisattvas, generally flowers (epigenetic) and fruits (epigenetic). If the conditions are not met, just a glass of water (purity and homogeneity) is enough. But there is absolutely no need to eat wine and meat to support Buddha and Bodhisattva. Usually, "incense, flowers, lights, paintings, fruits and music" are used as food, and one of them can be used.

Etiquette of burning incense to Buddha

1. Incense burning represents the incense burner's own respect for the three treasures. If there is still some incense in the incense burner, you don't need to light it. Just worship Buddha and Bodhisattva. If you bring your own incense, put it next to the incense burner and ask the master to light it when necessary, which will be more meritorious.

2. When burning incense, you only need to light one or three sticks of incense in the big incense burner in front of the main hall (temples generally prohibit believers from burning incense in the hall), and other temples hold incense and worship together. Of course, it can also be decided according to the regulations of the temple and the distribution of incense burners in the temple, but it is advisable to have no more than three incense burners per incense burner.

3. Burn incense sincerely and respectfully. Inserting a stick of incense means that you have no delusion, separation and pollution, which is a dedication to the Buddha; Inserting three sticks of incense also represents the mind of the incense burner: for example, offering sacrifices to the three treasures of Buddha, Dharma and monk, or diligently practicing precepts, determination and wisdom, and so on.

The correct way to burn incense is to pick up one or three sticks of incense and light them first. After the incense is lit, if the incense sticks have a flame, fan out the fire by hand, not by blowing or shaking the incense with your mouth. Hold the incense stick with the forefinger and middle finger of both hands, and hold the incense tail with the thumb of both hands, so that the incense head faces the Buddha statue, and then hold it up. Qi Mei will offer it as a sacrifice, thus visually presenting the Buddha and Bodhisattva to our eyes and accepting incense offerings. If you only put one incense stick, put it in the middle of the incense burner with your left hand; If you offer three sticks of incense, first insert the middle stick to say "for Buddha", then insert the right stick to say "for dharma" and the left stick to say "for monk". After offering incense, he put his hands together and said to himself, "To support all beings, may this fragrant flower cloud spread all over the ten realms, support all Buddhas and honor all saints."

When inserting incense, be careful that each incense should be inserted vertically and not staggered. After inserting the incense, you can ask questions without nodding and bowing again and again.
